3 take aways for me from Kosmos update:

2Q production was already known,from petrocom.gov website and was at/below low guidance. But, new drill was above expected payload. Will be interested to see what July number comes in at.

Kosmos locking in hedges for rest of 2025 and 26 at higher floor levels. Expect Tlw to be doing sane as part of underpinning refinancing efforts.

Production licence extension will lead to big uplift in 2P reserves. Also a key part of refinancing discussion.

All in all, neutral to positive update

Continue to show steady improvement, up to 90 today from low of 74 in early May. The bonds are much less vulnerable to daily manipulation, unlike the SP, so always a good weather vane to watch for sentiment.

For sentiment and outlook I tend to watch the '26 bond price movement rather than the SP, which we know can be so easily manipulated on low volumes. Bonds are up 1% today and holding steady around 85-87, far from nervous territory

Seems Iran have no stomach for a fight. Lobbing a few pre-signalled missiles to try and save face with their own public. Markets see the ruse, oil price down 6%. As you were...Back over to Israel to stir the hornets nest.

Militarily there is little Iran can do to hurt the US/Israel. Finding a way to increase oil price, which would hurt the US but benefit Russia, without causing a major supply issue for China is a possible move. Don't see closing the Strait being a likely option. Iran are in a corner which, for a regime prepared to martyr themselves and their people to obliterate Israel, is a dangerous place for everyone else. Logic rarely applies in these situations.

Quite right Loon. Nobody called the 75% recent rise, nobody called today's precipitous fall and nobody knows what tomorrowwill bring. Whether it's manipulation, opportunism or skulduggery is irrelevant. The medium term SP drivers are exactly what you've laid out.
