As we have been saying on this board all along the verdict was so obviously biased in favour of the Canadian company. Anyone who watched the trial start to finish couldn't have failed to notice Barbara took absolutely no notice of CW's expert witness on synergies.

Thanks HNS_77 interesting read, main takeaway for me is this key point (ie Barbara was asleep when Enzo was on the stand):

"While Cineworld did not present an alternative, its expert noted these synergies would only result from the business combination, and would accrue to Cineworld as buyer, not Cineplex.
Justice Conway did not discuss this point"

And then quite simply pure protectionism:

"She accepted Cineplex’s calculations and rejected Cineworld’s arguments that synergies should be discounted to reflect purchase price debt that would be placed at the Cineplex level."

@mountainous my average is 85p atm. Firstly bought my majority at 77, then a fairly sensible top up at 58p followed by the silly top ups at 103, 108 and 123 right in the middle of the pandemic -(

@mountainous wow you jumped in at an even worse point than I did :-( I hope you have been able to top up more at lower prices to better your average, especially at the recent Barbara special discount price ? :-)

I assume we will hear about CP before the report as the chance to appeal will be time limited ?

I'm not looking forward to news of a US listing as I don't know how that affects us, is it of benefit? Also I thought we already had one? If Mooky is in NY let's hope he nips over the border to sort out a deal with Mr Ellis who needs some cash right now :-)

Hopefully dividends will be paid before 2024, we don't need to be debt free :-) Until last year BT were paying huge divis with over £10bn in debt, unfortunately I sold all my BT shares when they froze divis and that was the start of my Cine position. Then BT made me redundant, great :-(

Do we know if CP are paying a divi? Mr Bus and Miss Weed have had theirs already of course in the form of their huge legal fees and maybe some brown envelope bonuses. Ranting insane analogies at the elderly was obviously a winner with Barbara!
