....and at any moment in time different MMs may have different Bid and Ask prices, so a trade below the average is not always a Sell, or there may be a delay in price crossing, in auction etc

If you look at the trades at the top of this page, they tag them as 'buy' or 'sell' based solely on the price. So for example, there was a trade at 09:02:05 of 38,966 shares at at 6.612p. At the time the average Bid price was 6.60p and the average Ask was 6.80p. The mid point between these would be 6.7p. Because the trade went through below this it is tagged as a "Sell*" (the asterisk is supposed to alert you to an explanatory note that doesn't exist on the page)

It often happens on AIM placings but at this point it's now very unlikely here

There is no list of 'buys' and 'sells', just a list of trades and the prices. LSE just tags trades over the mid price as 'buys' and under the mid price as 'sells'.

The bigger the rip today, the bigger the sellling of 6p placement shares tomorrow ;-)

As per the RNS, “ The last of the remaining long lead items due are currently on schedule to arrive at site the second week of September.”

You don’t know what these long lead items were and you don’t know who is shipping them. HE1 have already said they’re on schedule for spud in second half of September. We’ll get an RNS after the drill is safely turning in the ground and there’s not much point speculating every day. News usually leaks and the price will probably give us a better clue than anything.

Shares don’t “recover on fundamentals alone” unfortunately. Investing would be very easy if they did 😊 It’s a market and AIM can be particularly brutal.

So enlighten us with your inside information, how do you calculate this?

Be realistic, if there is no lock-in period then at east half of any book build for discounted placing shares will get sold before the price has doubled. And a lot will get sold much sooner than that. Some shares will be forward sold but you have to assume considerable churn volume around the placing price. Some larger investors might stay in for longer term risk exposure to the company's future, once they've got their stake back and de-risked their investment into a free ride. The main shareholder beneficiaries of AIM placings are often the same banks and underwriters supposedly working for the company ;-)

All depends where your starting from and appetite for risk. I don't feel the need to exit my positions anytime soon, or even to need a free ride, so I'd be content to sell the trading shares I bought at 6-7p if they get towards 10p in the short term, and hold the longer term investment shares I bought at 10-12p to see what happens after that. I should have sold them at 27p so I'd pretty much written those off, but you never know, they might come back to life this time.

Might have had something to do with that 3.5m XOFF trade later?

The 3.5m trade was XOFF (conducted between parties off exchange, or OTC), so maybe just moving shares around or reconciling an arrangement on placing shares).

500,000 shares per trade, at 6.2p, that's around £31k per trade, not £500k

You called a 4-5p raise, good call on the raise, missed call on the price, 6p it is. I still can't see you getting your 5p before closing on Friday, it might happen but odds are against now.

It's unlikely to drop below placing price now.

And how do you think the company is 'holding back' its share price exactly?

WhiteKnight represents short positions on BCE and UKOG, so obviously needs to talk the prices down on public discussion boards (just like the rampers do to try and pump the price up, it's often the same people who play pump and dump). You can listen to them or ignore them as you choose, but it's always relevant to be aware when there are short positions on any share you're invested in and these guys do help to flag that up. Every cloud has a silver lining ;-)
