plenty of jobs advised at debenhams, not many store managers and head office jobs, but plenty in food and customer facings. This is line with getting rid of management layers and head office reductions.

The danger is once it repeats the drops into the 20s, then eventually the share price will just stay there. There is a consistent pattern, every 18 months to 2 years the range drops to a new level and stays in the new range

if next could get 50% sales from online, debenhams should be able to get this as well. The websites are similar, next has more choice. Looking forward to the xmas trading update on 3rd or 4th jan 2019. The volume of online sales is an unknown, look forward to this being a lot higher then previous years. ASOS are not growing at the rate expected, so debenhams must be making substantial inroads into the online sales.

this could be said for most companies. nothing can be ruled out, but depends on the timeframes. Also a cva does not mean total wipeout for share holders. Debenhams only want to reduce rents, so can do a limited CVAs as the leases are held in a number of separate companies.

slough's shopping centre will get bulldozed and rebuilt. Debenhams is part of this shopping centre so will close in the not too distant future. There will be no long term lease for this store.
