RE: Stock Market impact on Retail and Food8 Jan 2026 13:08
The market has lost touch with reality. The trading update was solid. They’ve hit record revenue, grown estate by net 122?, finished the major capex, and profits are good. Yes cash has reduced so what? Yes they were honest in saying 2026 would be on par with 2025 which isn’t terrible but capex is done so like for like, and with consumer confidence improving, it’s a no brainer. The shorts are going to suffer as this rebounds. It will recover in the coming weeks as demand exceeds supply. This has been a total overreaction and market manipulation by greedy hedgefunds. No one can say Greggs isn’t performing because that’s a blatant lie. Labour have raised business taxes and killed consumer livelihoods as they alway do! Spend spend spend and tax the wealthy and the corporations. Greggs will rally and market manipulation needs to be considered by all these shorters by the FCA.
