Rather than simply selling ITV Studios to a third party - wouldn't it make more sense to float it off as a separate company? Create ITVS.L, retain 51% of the shares as a controlling interest to benefit from future asset appreciation, then pocket the 49% cash from sale of the rest into the main businesses bottom line - supporting eg ITVX content and growth...

Why bother buying just ITV Studios for £2.7bn when you can own the whole business for the same price and asset strip.

Sometimes the market gets share prices wrong, at least in the short term.

I pop back now and then and literally every single time no matter how long I've been away - I just see a screen full of back and forth bickering between a few posters and about 10% content about ITV.

This board is rubbish for ITV investors, that's the sad truth.

ADVFN not much better and obsessed with politics.

If only there was some alternative place for investors to discuss the actual financial instruments...

27/09 - ITV Market Cap: 2.36 billion GBP which is just 2.5 billion USD

It's never been cheaper for US media entities to takeover ITV. As someone said earlier - it's now or never!

Finally some good news for ITV! :)

At this rate - Channel 4 will be taking over ITV! :)

SMT have just published their latest factsheet for April 2022.

First thing I notice comparing to March 2022 factsheet is that Tesla has dropped from 2nd biggest holding to 4th.
Also noticed an increase in private company investments from 24.9% to 28.9%

FFS just talk about ITV and its present and future as an investment - I don't give a sh*t about your insecurities and boasting.

Yes ITV seems to have leapt up >3% from 66.9 around 10:30am to 69.1 at time of writing.

Have they discovered oil in the HQ car park I wonder? :)

Age aside - it's relevant to hear from inside RWC on the day they take a 5% stake. I can't imagine their views have changed much around perceived value since the article.

Following today's RNS about their 5.67% holding in ITV - I find it Interesting to read what RWC said about ITV in 2020:

"(RWC parter Ian) Lance here gives his top five stocks which he believes have a strong franchise and have been undervalued by the market."

"ITV is, in effect two business; broadcasting which is very reliant on advertising revenue and content production.
In 2019, the content production business made Ebit of £267m and we might value this at around £3.5bn (13x EBIT).
The enterprise value of the entire group is £3.8bn meaning that the broadcast business which last year made c.£500m of Ebit is being valued at around £300m in the stock market.
Another way to think about this is that companies like Netflix spend around $15bn a year on content production; for a fraction of this, they could have ITV’s entire back catalogue and all future content."

Looking at Proctor & Gamble ($PG) today for their first quarter earnings statement, for any relevance for ULVR.
Just released in US.
"(WSJ) - Procter & Gamble Co. is raising prices on a host of household staples as costs for freight and raw materials rise faster than the consumer-product giant anticipated."

Evergrande might go away without making any difference whatsoever to markets outside China, especially if they intervene, on the other hand it could be 'the next big thing' - we really have no way of knowing - so as an investor in financials I find it's good to just have awareness of current events with a banking relevance that could develop...
