Honestly bemused this is back to 68p.

Yes we all know it's worth more, yes we all know it's the best studio in Europe, yes we all know loads of media companies would like it tucked away in their company portfolio, yes we all know about the 10% holding that may or may not be helping, blah blah blah

It's no good having all the hope above if ITV just remains overlooked. I could own a Ferrari and advertise it outside my house for £5,000 but if nobody drives past and fancies snapping it up - it's just going to sit there. This is how I feel about ITV now. Yeah it's got potential - but nobody is paying attention. This is what has to change to reboot the shareprice.

Anyway, all I can hope (haha) is that this is just one more tree-shake to empty the wallets of weak holders - before the swoop! What else can we hold on to at this stage...?

I'm not suggesting the current funds = a bid value.
More likely the stake building is an ongoing process.

Funds include:

$500 million from Providence Equity Partners
$300 million in debt financing from Apollo
$150 million investment from Qatar Investment Authority

Not clear what the approx $1bn funding is being assembled for, but will focus on "growing demand for premium, independent content."
