Yo Jimmy, Reference was made in the Excalibur news release stating investment was received from Chlodwig Enterprises, an international ESG investment company with a particular focus on life sciences and positive impact investments. According to Companies House records, Chlodwig Enterprises owns 16.97% of Excalibur Medicines Ltd (will be slightly diluted post Igraine 2% acquisition). They are located in Cyprus.

@postman24, that is a really interesting find there. Shows the sums of money AZN are prepared to throw at early stage drug development. Worth noting that these payments are at initiation of Phase I based on an out-licensing agreement.

Per the RNS, baseline cost could be north of £19.2m, I think the fact that this number was stated sticks in everyone's mind. We can't yet quantify what those other potential deductions are.

"SGS will pay Vela 8 per cent. of proceeds received by SGS in excess of £19.2 million and after deduction of sums payable to the major pharmaceutical company and certain funders, and provision for taxation."

As to other investors, investment sourced from Mubadala Health, part of the Abu Dhabi Sovereign Wealth Fund, Excalibur, Chlodwig Enterprises, several high net worth individuals, UKRI/Innovate & Vela.

RNS 18 Nov advised that Flare Capital Limited and P4 Capital Limited do not have notifiable shareholdings in the Company (<3% but probably 0%). How did they managed to dispose shareholding during suspension and to whom? It is worth noting the connections:-
Flare Capital Limited Director Peter Greensmith is also Director of multiple Peterhouse Capital companies. Peterhouse Capital Limited is RDGC Joint Broker.
P4 Capital Limited has many shareholders including Flare Capital Limited, Lucy Williams (who is listed as Peterhouse Capital contact on RDGC RNS) and Guy Miller, another Peterhouse Capital resource listed on other RNSs).

The UK has signed contracts to buy a further 4.25 million courses of antivirals for the NHS

The 2 new contracts are for 1.75 million additional courses of Merck Sharp and Dohme’s (MSD) molnupiravir (Lagevrio®) and 2.5 million additional courses of PF-07321332/ritonavir (Paxlovid™) from Pfizer which will be available from early next year and are both expected to be effective against Omicron. The 4.25 million courses are in addition to the procurement of 480,000 courses of molnupiravir and 250,000 courses of PF-07321332/ritonavir announced in October this year.

France has cancelled its order for Merck & Co's Covid-19 antiviral drug following disappointing trial data and hopes instead to receive Pfizer's competing drug before the end of January. France is the first country to publicly say it has cancelled an order for the Merck treatment after the company released data in late November suggesting its drug was markedly less effective than previously thought, reducing hospitalisations and deaths in its clinical trial of high-risk individuals by about 30 per cent. "The latest studies weren't good," French health minister Olivier Veran told BFM TV.

UK has already approved Molnupiravir - will they continue with the order? This ties in nicely with the article posted earlier today about the Pfizer anti viral Paxlovid and lack of production. Maybe time for an alternative that can deliver results - AZD1656.

Yep, I can now see it on Google charts as well. The price immediately before and after the spikes was around 180p. If these trades are real, someone really had their pants pulled down! Any way we can get a history of trades on those days? Yes, I am bored.

I stand corrected if that is the case but Google still reports Year High of 240p. Those spikes do not appear on Barclays charts. I don't really know how that is possible.

I refer to the RNS of 18 Dec 2020 (yes, exactly 1 year ago) which stated "Furthermore, should the trial be successful, we expect to agree a commercial deal with a partner almost immediately". This message has been consistent throughout this year.

Where does 366.45 come from? Vela invested in IPO on 22/07 @ 180p, hence there was no prior price. I agree with TM, Barclays is showing Year High of 236p and I don't see any higher price on the charts.

A first-of-its-kind clinical trial to investigate the effectiveness of new COVID-19 oral antiviral treatments - which can be safely taken at home - has begun enrolling participants today. (article published 08 Dec). The first new treatment to be investigated through the trial will be molnupiravir (brand name, Lagevrio) - a COVID antiviral pill - which has already been licensed by the MHRA. Additional new antiviral treatments will also be investigated through different arms of the trial platform, as and when they become available.

I reckon this type of Business Model has seen its day, investing in small cap companies at IPO just doesn't cut it. Management need to be adventurous like Arcadia and Aeristech which us small time PIs don't get access to. Better to have a few of these in the stable that build equity off market rather than 10 smaller investments that just drift.

On the website it states 'Seeking valuation anomalies in publicly listed companies' - Well they got that in bucketloads, just the wrong way around lol.

Firstly need to address their cashflow issues after the failed CLN drawdown last month. Is there still a requirement for further funds, there is another CLN available? Need confirmation that Business activities have turned cashflow positive before SP moves. Be interesting to see how this one progresses in the New Year.

Correct. The RNS is very positive, what's there not to like. The main players SGS and EML continue to progress forward, not like there has been any negative feedback from them at all at this stage. When the next RNS lands and states Vela will receive £xm upfront and £ym annual licence fees, SP will react accordingly.

SGSC are undertaking commercial discussions with potential licensees and partners and examining options for the next stage of the development and approval process. The finalisation of the CSR formally marks the end of the ARCADIA trial.
