Weshop now own 33,333,333 Boanerges shares issued at a notional 75p = £25m. There is a provision that allows Weshop to sell some Boanerges shares to cover its tax bill so this may reduce over time. Weshop issued shares now increased to 12,403,952 with Vela’s 71,429 representing 0.58% ownership. In theory, Vela investment valued at £144k. Need to keep an eye on JPJ site to see if there are any Weshop share disposals and the real, rather than notional share value. imo

Yes and so does Jimmy and he knows stuff. I think Igraine will submit their Audited accounts on same day as next SGS news update. Given the Excalibur connections, does seem to be part of a managed process that will hopefully soon lead to the next stage of the Arcadia Trial, whether that be financing, manufacturing, commercialisation, all of the above etc. imo

I have on a couple of occasions contacted Vela via the contact form on their website. I can confirm that the responses I received from Brent was sent from the gmail account mentioned below.

Oh dear, my earlier numbers were a little optimistic! :-(

My understanding is that WeShop shareholders receive new shares in Boanerges i.e they bought the assets not the ltd co. The number of new shares to existing shares not yet known but I estimate around 7:1 at a value of 75p/share. Boanerges to delist from Aquis and these new Boanerges shares can then be traded on JP Jenkins exchange. Not sure when these new shares will be issued and available to trade. So may not be to liquid to sell if that is the intention. IMO

I think the calculation is as follows:
Weshop Ltd current shares in issue (per accounts 29/02/20) = 4,771,361
Boanerges to issue 33,333,333 shares - that equates to 7 news shares for each existing Weshop share.
Vela to receive 71,429 * 7 = 499,012 new shares @ 75p = £374,259
Caveat - Weshop number of shares in issue may have since changed and no guarantee that new shares can be converted into cash for 75p

Here is another little tidbit. The Igraine restructure from back in June saw 3 Excalibur people slated to join the BoD. Alongside Sir Chris and Martin Walton (Directors of EML) was Stephen Winfield. At the time he was Secretary and Director of Excalibur Healthcare Services Ltd (major shareholder of EML) but Companies House records show his appointments were terminated 29 Oct. Intriguing, what does this mean, is this another duck being lined up? Lots of moving parts going on in the background and one day we may understand what it all means.

I don't think I have seen this article before. Written by Sir Chris on 20 Sept, it states "A further trial will be take place and hopefully the outcome will be a drug – a simple oral tablet – that will benefit diabetic patients who contract Covid-19. It is a very exciting prospect". Will there be an opportunity for Vela to exit prior to this next trial thru sale/licence back to AZN or does it roll forward its investment?

Jimmy, I am inclined to agree. I expect Igraine audited accounts to be released to coincide with next RNS once ducks give the thumbs up. News must be v. close. As for 25p target, that is a £4bn MC, close to FTSE 100 territory, let's try and get to 0.25p first, then we can aim for the stars :-)

Yes, that is the concern, we get the blockbuster RNS and the market just shrugs it off. Maybe we find out tomorrow, is that a 1 code I see, bring it on!

Same address as Path Investments PLC which Brent is also Non Executive Chairman. Do the Directors actually visit the office or is it just a mailbox address? How much time do you think they spend on Vela activities each week, an hour or 2 maybe? Once an investment is made, what else is there to do? The 3 Directors all have various other business interests to keep themselves occupied.

@star786, yes and based on this, we all expected a swift deal announcement on or near results day. However, the 9th Sept RNS states in part "SGSC will immediately start to undertake commercial discussions". Did discussions start on or before 06 June, on or after 9th Sept & most importantly, when will these discussions ever conclude?

Spot on, you can add me to the list of LTHs looking to exit, hopefully sooner rather than later. First whiff of a deal and that Sell button is going to get a good work over :-)

I see news reports that Pfizer now have a covid pill alongside Merck. "Pfizer said it expects to manufacture 180,000 treatment courses by the end of this year and at least 50 million courses by the end of next year, including 21 million in the first half of 2022. Bourla said that, based on the better-than-expected trial results, Pfizer is considering potentially doubling next year's manufacturing target".

The market is big enough for more treatments but only if SGS et al do the business. Let's go Vela. GLA.
