However todays news does illustrate why chucking 100 mill copls way as part of a deal is a no brainer for DISCOVERED oil

I see an initial farm in to give COPL cash followed by a possible offer for remaining WI later once the wells flow.

CUDA Was a great deal IMHO but what is annoying is that every value accreditive deal seems to come with some candy for whoever stumps up the cash that allows them to trash the sp.
Next deal hopefully JV needs to be unequivocally positive

JV with Exxon On favourable terms would expect to open in 20s and continue to rise

Wookie Copl have to continue with RBL discussions as we don’t know if a JV will complete.
Also not having RBL that enables COPL to self fund (albeit at a slower pace) would weaken COPL position in negotiation.

Fact 2 It went t(ts up because of the banks financial collapse(rbl was lender)
Fact 3 Oilexco rise was massive when production started to scale up
Fact 4 Art has farmed out to super major Exxon before for the tune of 120 mill

Like most I am not pleased at the shareholder value erosion to get us to this pivotal point but I suggest you focus on the above points when considering where copl are as a company and the trajectory that may well be repeated.

On each of the last pieces of ‘big news’ there had been massive retail buying then all of a sudden the sp hits a brick wall currently it 16.5 previously it was 20.
Someone is putting an iceberg trade in to kill any big rise then we get pond life piggy backing onto it.

I think the issue is despite independent verification of a conservative billion barrels in place we should have coasted back up to pre Cuda acquisition levels.
So your average pi just gets bored and buys a stock that is given fair value.
For me I am holding as this is one of the biggest mismatches in mkt cap to fair value I can ever recollect
We need at least 2 bags just to get close to a sensible valuation solely based on producing assets…

I think the answer is fairly simple.
PIs get p9ssed off when a share does not move on seemingly mind blowing news….
Someone farts and 88e does 30 percent and today I see they are off again on another ‘promising’ piece of acerage.

For whatever reason someone with deep pockets is controlling the SP here on a shareholder base that is mainly retail.
We need other institutions (small funds) to buy in here and IMHO that will happen on successful completion of the JV.
Only then will will see the pond life and army of small time swing traders find a new toy.

The very fact we are voicing about something positive is a marked improvement.
Fact is any JV with Exxon will send send this mental. Art is not about to give the Crown Jewels away for a song so let’s wait and see the structure of the deal.
