RE: re: Timing15 Mar 2019 12:07
For reasons of my own I would be delighted if this situation dragged on into the new tax year and in all selfishness I would not be unhappy if the shorters managed to prize more shares from the hands of those willing to sell. Despite the criticism I sometimes receive for it I have always tried to give a honest assessment of the facts as they become known, having personally been involved with the purchase and sale of multi million £ companies I feel I have the experience to comment. There are two distinct parts to the news we anticipate firstly agreement with GoT and secondly the potential buyout of our shares by ABX or the company probably by the Chinese. In the case of agreement with GoT this, by itself, supported by our majority shareholder this should be fairly straightforward now and I believe news of this to be imminent. The prospect of a sale may take more time to actually complete but if that remains, as I believe it to, the most likely course then an announcement of the offer should again be imminent. A slight delay is more likely if they are trying to tie these two things together. Completion of the process may take a few months but the SP will immediately alter to close to the proposed offer price. That is my own conclusion based on the facts as they are currently known, I would be very interested to hear from any credible posters as to why an announcement, clearly in the best interests of the company and the country in which we operate can or would be delayed?
Let’s have a quick look at the trades for today. Elly, a new poster to us but someone who has definitely proved their knowledge and value to this board has commented that we need to closely consider the trading volume - I totally agree. When I started this note about 150k shares had been traded - 87k shown as sells resulting in a 6p drop in the SP. Even if we consider all the trades as sells that is roughly a £25 million value drop in the value of ACA based upon sales of 0.036% of the shares listed on the LSE. If you still do not believe that this is a valiant but ultimately misguided attempt by the shorters to scare you into selling then they have won and deserve your shares otherwise forget the SP until the news. If you are not intending to sell before then it means precisely nothing if you are looking to add then they are once again giving you an opportunity.
Whatever you decide I wish you well.
