I don’t think I would compare MTRO and AMGO. Personally I have never suggested that this is a take private candidate I have only commented as a negative that significant majority shareholders have been known to use all the tools available to them to lower the SP to facilitate a buyout. I do not suggest that this is happening here Yuri but the price is falling. To be clear I would like this co to remain listed, regain its 250 place and that the work being undertaken by the board to realign the business towards new customers proves successful - I still believe it will and I will be holding through the results. As for MTRO, I am holding as i do believe it will be bought out, I can’t fathom by who but I do believe it will be and quite soon, if I am wrong then I am happy to let my investment ride until either it is or something else significant happens.

No great insight from me. Holding less than I did at a lower average but still now in a loss here. In hindsight I should have held off but I still rate this company. I am not aware of anything that is working against us, the Nigel party Brexit announcement should be viewed as good news if, like me, you are looking for stability and a clear(er) path. aw alludes to my comment that the major shareholder can affect the SP in the hope of taking the company private - that is always a risk but they would still be paying a 30/40% premium to the market price probably plus this years dividend. Publication of the figures in November will be significant and I will hold what I have until then. ATB

Following Mh’s good grace I thought I should advise that after posting I added 15k shares but notice it to is reported as a sell, it was a buy.

Nicely done Mh and thanks for posting. That was a brave shout but as aw confirms we are mostly confident here but your buy does strengthen my conviction to add more pre results. Expect a reduction in overall profitability but for all the right reasons to secure the business going forward. Welcome aboard - ATB.

Well the RNS tells us quite a lot. They added over 400k shares to take their holding to 16.26%. Prospects are good now for the SP to recover - I’m still anticipating mid 60’s before news. ATB

Guys don’t forget that once an offer is made there is a process to go through which will take several months to complete so it will be the New Year before it actually happens, just in time for some other things to fall into place. I would not rule out more than one offer and it could go hostile which again would eat up the time.

I agree Yuri but not everyone slows down - the role of Chairman does not require visits to the office every day, it is more about getting the right people in place to do the job whilst you take a guiding role.

Investor - sorry but I disagree his long term mates have made a fortune with him in the past and their best route to profit is to stick with him on a buy out.

Dependant on the offer I would not be adverse to a Lloyds offer. Personally I don’t believe we will have long to wait before the cards are played out.

Very glad to see you here Super. Personally I don’t expect much of a delay although you know better than most that my timings are sometimes off the pace. Big V is, in my opinion, free to act from close of business today so I anticipate some action from him shortly. I am attracted by a Lloyds all share bid as I remain hopeful that once the decision to Brexit is behind us the market and in particular the banking sector will shine but if Big V does bid then this is likely to be all cash and unless he has achieved dispensation, which I believe is unlikely, he will have to bid over £9.20. After the pain of the last few months that seems high but it still represents less than book value and you do not have to look back very far to see that price as being considered an absolute steal - nobody knows the business better than Big V and he has a vested interest in making it work being almost certainly his last major play. Whatever happens next will be good so get out the popcorn and relax. ATB

I think it really depends on what the prospective purchasers believes the FCA will do and how much that might effect a £1 billion purchase. I maintain that FCA will be keen to ensure that any anomalies in the reporting process have been rectified and a fine if any will not be substantial therefore not overly important to a bidder.

The fact that there have not been TR1’s is significant SW - bid coming, the only thing that makes sense.

Give it up Franky although your early comments were proved correct in that the SP fell you need to alter your position based upon the facts - go bang another drum elsewhere.

I agree RDR - and I think the first and one to beat will be Big V - if others want it they will have to pay up. If it is Big V and tomorrow I can’t see anyway he will bid below £9.20 (his 12 month high), he knows what MTRO is worth and the other interested parties who see the potential here will have to out bid him. Interesting. Well done to everyone who has held through the pain don’t let the real profit slip through your fingers now - hold hard.

Well, I admit to being surprised that we have received no holding RNS, I was waiting for it. I like this share and remain confident that the figures at the end of the month will be pretty good on any level except perhaps in relation to what has been achieved in the past but then again neither is the SP as high as it has been in the past. This is a cash generating, highly profitable company paying a high dividend and I want it in the mix. I believe the management to be strong, they are already adjusting their model to reflect regulatory concerns and by ensuring they do not exploit their customer make them an investment I can stomach. I looked again at the charts for the last 12 months and although no expert I find the drop overplayed and therefore the SP oversold. Therefore,I have added back quite a few shares, using the opportunity to switch from my trading to SIPP account to shield the dividend and potentially capital growth from tax.

Mtro - speculation of takeover and rising nicely - I will be sticking with it.
RSG - as has been pointed out I am holding but pretty disappointed with it so very unlikely to add - I believe SRB to be a far better gold play. ATB

Well of course a good escape route for the shorters and assuming that this turns out to be a share purchase, would be to buy up shares in the purchaser - which are likely to dip slightly on the news and use those to settle their obligation to the lender, potentially avoiding a short squeeze.

Nice find sbb20. Makes sense to me and if Lloyds view it this way other will which can only be good for the SP. After so much pain, hold for full value.
