A decent article to read. What is becoming clear as I read through dozens of news pieces, is that there are two camps emerging; The fait accompli where the virus is going to be a major problem bigger than anything seen before and urgent drastic action is required, and the other camp being the realists where trust is put in the reports of doctors dealing with omicron and accepting the risk of living with covid [and all life threatening diseases].

Mass media by default needs the most obtuse angle to grab attention and out bid the other news outlet so goes directly to fait accompli and almost immediately goes into defensive mode to maintain the narrative it has set to avoid loss of face. For a change to that narrative, there has to be a sacrifice, a politician, standard or regulation, process or procedure, wronged special interest group, silenced campaign group, policy or law, basically something that can be pointed at as the villain misleading the narrative.

The response to omicron has been interesting in the way the realist argument has surfaced rapidly to the extent the fait accompli narrative has had to kickback straight away, but the realist narrative is spreading faster than a, dare I say it, covid mutation after a dozen cans of red bull!

Control of the narrative is rapidly slipping form the fingers of the TV gods - and be under no illusion how much they hate that. As the chorus grows ever louder to 'live with the mild variant' you should expect the main mass media control freaks to get harder and harder on the rhetoric of 'we just don't know so play safe even more'. There are multiple power struggles going on all the time with the TV gods like this. This one is a biggie and the fallout could be the TV gods actually browbeating political leaders worldwide to return to mass lockdowns just so the TV narrative appears to have been correct. Oh yes they would do that, they are routinely trying to incite governments into boycotts, military attacks, military withdrawals, adoption of policies never presented to the electorate, open borders [for absolutely everyone], mad pay reviews - you name it they are on it. Look at the recent mad hysterical propaganda campaigns flogging climate change crap to bounce cop26 attendees into some weird tree hugging rose tinted impossible vegan earth Ghia dreamscape.

The realists may be the correct attitude, but it will account for nothing as long as the TV gods keep nailing the real policy makers to the TV narrative.

I don't mind that the Alien regenerated in a female human form, the TARDIS is supposed to be aware of the Dr's needs for facing the troubles ahead. What is a bit weird is that, having regenerated as a male human so many times, the female Dr Who seems to have no interest in any of the new bits and pieces. There has been virtually no reference at all to the fact, the alien is now in female form. It's almost as if the BBC wanted to pretend that male and female form are inseparable with absolutely no differences. Why they then dressed the female Dr in playschool clothes is beyond me. She just looks like a teaching assistant at the local nursery. And as for the first two series, wooden acting and far too many travelling companions literally standing around doing nothing for long dialogue shots. Truly awful direction and scripts. Now we have a massively over complicated script that requires numerous explanations to try and explain, what the hell is going on. At least the number of companions has dropped to a more manageable level. The last decent exploration of the relationship between the Dr and his companion was with Rose, that got very good and a bit real towards the end. If they want to get radical, let the Dr regenerate as a Dalek, without the body machine!!!!!

But the main mass media, like the BBC continue to back its own selection of talking heads and only broaches the alternative mild symptom narrative with leading questions for their expert panel to rebut or buy time for 'research' [line pockets with grants].

We are now watching a power struggle here. One the one side real world reports which are getting voiced at low level but copied extensively on social media and on the other the established narrative and extending the investigation as far as possible backed by mass TV media. This is how I have been expecting the tower of cards on the climate change lie to fall - except there the social media platforms are editing the narrative like the mass TV do so that is much more difficult in breaking through.

The desire of mass TV media to be powerful and influence and wield authority has led them to gravitate towards campaigns and causes on the basis that the dispossessed are at a significant disadvantage and mass TV thereby has a qualification for its existence. As it turns out the disposed campaign groups are very well funded and represented and the silent minority are the ones left out. So wrt vaccines, when 'clusters' of cases were claimed for the combined MMR, off TV went with its hard hitting deep probing documentaries to hold the great and powerful to account on behalf of the worried. They instead gave a platform to numpties that otherwise would have remained well out on the fringe of society. Many looney weirdo crackpot theories have made it to the documentary headline news shock horror level resulting in the spreading of beliefs in conspiracy. So when the pandemic comes along, and the amazing success of developing a vaccine within a year, parts of populations have already been conditioned through a form of hypnosis to automatically reject the vaccine. The extent at how far and to what extent people have been preconditioned to resist a vaccine is surprising. When Germany and Austria fell for the Nazi propaganda, it can be argued that the very limited media outlets of the day allowed conditioning of the population to accept and work with the evil of the day. But the modern equivalent of population mass hypnosis or mass hysteria is as real today as it was back then. People believe the most incredible rubbish form climate change, to 5G to antivax. TV mass media is forever pointing the finger at other people yet it is they who are overwhelmingly answerable for many problems. The US is split into polar opposites and it is entirely down to the TV media refusing to accept the Trump election result and spending all day every day through the whole term in office negating everything no matter what the real world situation was. Hundreds of thousands more will die due to vaccination rates being lower than they should but the feckless leaders of all nations are so drunk on media image they will pray to the gods og TV and perform whatever dance they are directed too. Those who chose media rather than politics to influence and rule people chose well, it is just a pity they have no idea what they are doing without any constituency feedback. The gods of TV perpetually defend the wrong side.

I've also noted my investing.com live market sp are sticking a lot over the last few days. Sometimes they will stick straight away and other times go on for sometime before hanging. I wish the app developers would just leave them alone. They cannot stop fiddling about and ruining them. The number of great perfectly working apps I eventually deleted because the developer kept messing it about until it just failed.

I am not cleared to fly military aircraft. But I think even I would have realised as I was going up the ramp I was a long way from the required velocity and would have slammed the breaks on able to bring the plane to a halt instead of taking it swimming.

China is a global weapons sale player and has it's fingers in a few pies as a cold war position. It is building it's world base using soft methods at the moment allowing direct access to Chinese forces to base overseas if it wishes, rather like American military bases overseas. Chin is a little late coming to the game, the power transfer has only really begun in earnest in the last 15 years or so. But China is rapidly taking over as the new superpower and will by default get it's military exports in more war zones. It relies less on copying technology and can now create its own as it has matured over the last decade or so. It is a very serious threat now and has world plans to have us all speaking mandarin and operating Chinese style governments. It will all kick off with Taiwan. People were worried Trump would press the big red button. Sleepy Joe won't be able to stop pressing it once he starts!

Many months ago the effect of the virus on hospitalizations and deaths etc should have started to be compared to existing virus diseases and other causes of severe illness. As far back as early summer perhaps, comparisons to keep in perspective the impact of the disease should have been a key WHO brief. We would now be accepting covid as just another pain in the arse and returned our attention back to more deadly continuing problems elsewhere in the world. The unintended consequences of the intense focus and mad desire to try and control the spread of a virus are far reaching. Turning attention away from malnutrition, malaria, starvation, water supply, sanitation may have killed far more people overall than covid itself.

jtom, any barrier will restrict the trajectory of a missile that has momentum. That is not the main issue with masks. It is the accumulation of the virus on the mask which is the problem. If you are a carrier, and you are expressing a high virus count then you are filling up the mask with a high concentration of virus. To catch the disease you have to absorb enough virus to cross an infection level. Most people can handle low counts. You are forever being bombarded with cold and flu but only when you absorb enough virus over a threshold does it take over and replicate faster than being eradicated in the body usually resulting in symptoms as the body fights it.

So super spreaders have face masks saturated with very high levels. They touch the mask. Touch a surface. Somebody else comes along, touches the surface, their face and they are very easily infected. In fact, people with symptoms who should be isolating have a false sense of security and believe they can move around in public protecting other people by wearing a mask. It is in fact the exact opposite. If masks worked, they would have been mandatory for decades to stop the spread of killer flu! Catch it, kill it, bin it. Not keep wearing it for hours on end!!!

This is all well known. The mask wearing became a thing because it was an anti-Trump symbol and unfortunately the WHO used it as a retaliation policy against Trump who criticized their early response to the pandemic. It was actually a political gesture to begin with and it was rapidly adopted by news media after that as a simple tool to bash politicians with because the immediate logic of them being a barrier seemed so easy. But the wider issue of them as super spreaders has now been shown all over the world but media has its back to the wall with it. They can't start changing the advice they were very instrumental in pushing. The mask should have faded away and this is why I am truly gobsmacked that they have been allowed back on the agenda. This is monumental error that will result in major widespread lockdowns being reimposed unless the policy is dumped and FAST.

jotom, the reason it is so important is the sequence of events seen repeatedly all over the world and a sequence that is then repeated post lockdown. Mask wearing imposed, cases rapidly rise blamed on superspreaders, lockdown follows. Cases drop, lockdown and masks removed. Variant comes along, knee jerk response is to force the masks again. Rinse and repeat and lockdown then follows again. The pattern is well established. As long as only one effect of the masks is referenced and the more important part about the masks being the superspreaders, as warned right at the beginning, is deliberately removed from open discussion then a return to lockdown will follow. It is used as a comfort blanket and it is used as a propaganda tool and it is used as a nudge theory compliance manipulator. Unfortunately it is also a potent source of concentrated viruses that are well over the threshold for infecting other people and a virus that can survive for hours outside the body on surfaces.

In Germany fordm, don't they specify only particular masks can be used? It is a free for all here (UK) and most places around the world where people even where plastic visors!

Seems the feedback from case symptoms around the world has been buried from mass media now, this is now very much a contrived return to lockdown type social engineering. The mask lobby is pushing very hard to have them imposed everywhere at all times again and the discussion continues focusing exclusively on trapping some exhaled large particles but ignoring micro particles and of course the concentration building up on the mask and mask touching causing the spread of concentrated swabs. And this with a much more contagious variant around. The manner of this mask debate being so completely one-sided shows that problem with masks being the source of super spreaders is now very actively being suppressed.

Also, I am a bit worried that Pfizer has managed to elbow out Astra in the latest purchasing round. Pfizer is much more politically loaded because of the profit involved and the kudos in national point scoring. But Pfizer does not generate T-cell immunity and is therefore less superior that the Astra. It looks to me that buying Pfizer has been a political decision, not a medical one.
