Hospitals can not be full of covid patients because there are only certain areas that actually handel covid patients, the rest of the hospitals carry on with their work including A&E. SAGE has not included in its modelling the information from SA. It has assumed covid=hospital. As I clearly articulated earlier, we have been here before and even with the Delta variant, the NHS handled the pandemic and the Nightingale hospitals were not even used. They had a couple of patients in to test and train the staff, but then were NEVER USED. Omicron is far far less severe and the modelling form SGAE does not take that into account! The Guardian has an agenda to spin the data in as poor a way as possible to cast the government in as poor a light as possible. Using reports from the Guardian to back up your claims really is desperately scraping the bottom of the barrel. Is that it? Is that all you have? I was looking for the COBRA meeting leaks, only to find it didn't quite happen in the first place. Interesting. Sturgon still trying to wrangle more money out of the English for Scottish covid related invoices, I think it is about time the Scotts started paying their own way for the costs of their own governments policies and England should stop bailing them out.

Meanwhile, what is going on in Downing St? Still waiting for the lunch time leaks to give direction on what is going to happen re lockdowns. We had returned to living with covid. Unfortunately the panic response of certain so called scientists freaked out the political class and the problem of them relying on such a narrow range of advisors has come back to bite them all on the bum. The WHO did try to get some rationality in the early days of omicron but has been show through out the pandemic as pretty useless talking shop.

Now, the opening trading of the day/week has slowed to a trickle for the sector. We will find out in the next hour or so what the trajectory will be set once the iis analysis is put into practice.

Why would omicron fill hospitals? The symptoms are mild, if you have any. Again VP you are trying to sell this idea that having covid=hospital. That was the initial fear at the start of the pandemic and they built the Nightingale hospitals to make provision for that. As more was learned, as vaccinations came about, as the more severe Delta eaked, the Nightingale hospitals were not even used and eventually disbanded.

You are desperately trying to keep the fear sell going, are you Gove in disguise or something? This myth that hospitals are going to be overwhelmed with omicron was busted at least one week ago. In fact , it has been so busted even the mainstream media gods have changed their narrative, and that is probably a one in a generation event.

The overwhelming of the NHS is a completely busted story. The last trickle of talking heads trying to save face will be gone by midweek and the whole of the 'expert' agenda will have been put back where it should have been in the first place, advice and only advice, and advice that could be legitimately cross-examined. Far too much trust has been placed in the laps of the experts, and they have abused it big up their position and now it is backfiring.

The NHS will absolutely definitely positively NOT BE OVERWHELMED by covid nor anything else.

There has been a very dramatic U turn in the narrative, and it is very very long overdue. News media outlets should have been asking these questions throughout rather than behaving like herd of sheep all thinking they have some sort of intellectual superiority rebroadcasting crap that sounds intelligent but was in fact a pile of crap. Same with masks, same with climate change. There is so much crap to clear out the stable....

As I posted before, a lot of Dowing St and Whithall departments provide 'refreshments' on a very routine basis as part of the hospitality - typically because of the weird long hours that are worked. The irony is the trade unions kept these and had them expanded under Blair as part of humanizing the odd way Whitehall works as a mental health issue. When the news broke about 'parties' in Downing St, it was spun very well indeed, take the routine gatherings which may have had a seasonal element, an 'end-of-term' feel as part of the teaming, and represent it as some sort of major law breaker. Various media institutions ran heavy with it, but as the actual nature and description of these rather routine gatherings is now known, others like the newspapers and TV channels have had to engage in a mass picture delete campaign, since many in media also have a similar ethos due to the 24hr nature and weird shifts in media. And then there all the other political parties, mass picture deletes as they stand in the glass house, realise Boris is not being brought down with this one [it is susceptibility to science advisors and he has lost one senior minister and will be hearing the new narrative with disbelief this morning]. Indeed Old Dom Com may find this backfires on him as, once revealed as the source, he will have more of his own discreactions revealed. The cabinet office and party is a lot better connected than him and Cummings may well find himself deprived of his liberty having broken lockdown rules.

I have speculated how are the TV gods going to get out this a few times and it looks like the real world information form SA has given them the opportunity. This morning on R4 there has been open questioning of what the 'experts' say and about the integrity of the modelling. Haven't seen anything like that from the very first news report about covid. The narrative is undergoing a fundamental U turn and based it seems on real world data. Analysts will be preparing their presentations now and the number crunchers will be setting the trading coefficients on the auto trade bots, I remain confident real world data analysis will result in a positive day, and up to my cap of 8%
