This might be why a number of posters have become so aggressive and nasty towards me. I said 160 way back and throughout the whole of January and now into Feb that is the basic level it is. That seems to be the priced in level for results. And of course, as I am supposed to be so spectacularly wrong it is a difficult truth for some to bear, I have estimated this about right.

I think I have noticed something in Danphonics post style.

He starts off chummy and friendly. Then raises the odd little issue. Then reports it being a bit more of an issue. Tries to give Uncle Dan friendly advice to nudge the dialogue along a particular path. Starts posting being irritated. Becomes objectionable and reaches out to other members, "you too?". Finally he delivers his fatal blow declaring he rejects me and pushes everybody else to do so on his sayso.

Except, Uncle Dan, the attention span of most on here is so short your deliberate progressive walk from aligning to rejecting is way over their heads. And in the real world, people tend to have inner firewalls that protect them from being manipulated by the likes of you. Promise get rich quick schemes, maybe. But it is really rather difficult to lead people against one another. You certainly don't have the tact or the patience to do that and you miss some vital techniques along the way. To manipulate people like you have tried to do, you have to continue being their cheerleader, acting as a barrier to all the poo.

Anyway, you run along and keep trying. One day you might even get somebodies attention.

7mil was UT, uncrossing trades. Just the days crud being balanced by mm. 12mil was a separate trade. I would guess a trust fund or sovereign fund unloading or similar. The recovery is sluggish so the money is moved elsewhere. Just a guess.

Looking at the IAG chart, one of the most prominent features is the news that a vaccine is available resulting in a significant vertical increase. Why? Well with a vaccine, everybody would get jabbed and the with that the pandemic would be over.

But, not everybody wanted to be jabbed. Politics immediately interfered with the confidence in the jab and big pharma moved to ensure the higher profit jabs were used the most irrespective of cost and time. And then the persistent paranoid fear brigade capping the extent of the jabs and effectiveness. Then there was the internal shelf life requiring boosters against new variants. The decline over 2021 can be read into the vaccine troubles, until the transatlantic route news, first lifted then dashed the price back on to the 2021 trajectory. That is one reason we haven't seen the recovery the rose tinted brigade have been promising. Also, as the pandemic ebbs away, the macro financial restructuring begins and things like interest rates and inflation drown out news which would otherwise lift the sp to lofty heights, such as ending preflight tests inbound to the UK. And the vacc debate and booster debate continues and is an issue all over the world. There are no declarations of herd immunity being reached. In fact the opposite is happening as described for measles today. And lobby group pressing for eternal restrictions and conformity still rule in many areas, especially with the mask nonsense. People see that visual prompt and psychologically remain in lockdown mode and that includes with the attitude for booking flights. There is definitely a hesitancy in a return to free travel. Whilst airlines might think they are selling a safer trusted environment forcing and supporting mask wearing, they are in fact perpetuating the lockdown mindset. Of all the things that need repealing, and aggressively, it is the masks. Symbol of lockdown, symbol of pandemic and trigger for a particular mental attitude. The recovery does look like it is going to take a long time but mostly due to a reluctance to change thought patterns and behaviour to put people in a post-pandemic free movement no lockdown frame of mind.

Because that is what really irks you. You are very unsure about what you are doing and seek confirmation. When you read possible issues that could result in undermining your choices, then we get all this nonsense. Some of you really should not be investing in stocks. Many of you clearly do not have the mental strength of conviction to keep your nerve and that is why many are constantly spooked in to selling at the wrong time and easily led to buying at the wrong time. If you want an echo chamber confirming your choices, go and set up a chat room on ADVFN where you can make yourself the moderator and control who posts what. You can then delude yourself your choices are the correct ones.

We may have left the EU but don't underestimate their ability to drag us into their argument with China. A trade war with China will be a disaster for the world economy even being outside the EU. Knowing of the pretentious nation state idealism of the commission, they will respond aggressively and negatively trying to be big and important so this issue could rapidly mushroom. And seeing how China aligned itself with a rather belligerent Russia in the UN over the Ukraine, things may only go from bad to worse. This time round, we are not looking at proxy battles, this one is evolving in open face to face.

Effective day trading is done with a basket of stocks you are particularly familiar with. Day trading a single stock is normally of little use unless the trade is the center of some sort of turbulence and then the margin may still be small. You need to have 'pots' of money taking a couple of % here and there, fast selling to keep each loss less than half the gains, and be very good with either a spreadsheet or double entry accounting on paper. Day trading requires you to have the ability to accept a loss and sell early, not hang around hoping it will suddenly recover, and to sell with only a few % gain and not start hoping it will go that extra 1% higher. You have to be very disciplined and engineer the buys and sells in your basket to constantly keep a few % edge. You can start small as long as you reinvest everything until you reach a point you can comfortably take an income without depleting your capital. Never ever use orders as you will not have control over settlement prices. Always do it with an ISA to avoid tax and be very careful of stamp duty. It can be done but takes work and those successful at it have generally worked in the sector before and have had loads of training or have been self-taught with years of practice. The only main difference with using a retail account and having direct access to crest is that the margin the trade cost takes can be higher with small retail trades, although you also have to factor in crest costs. I've done it in the past but it does require a great deal of attention and some counter intuitive behaviour to follow the basic rules which can be quite stressfull.
