Just to add that the BW Catcher got a clean break in the October weather and hooked up within 24 hours of arrival at Catcher field and that the project was made up of 12 separate wells across 3 distinct fields.

Lancaster EPS is a far less complex affair with only 2 wells.

Hi Genghis,

I was the one that stood up at the AGM and asked him how long it would take from buoy hook up to FOIL.

He was only "cautious" from a point of view of not wanting to formally commit to a time period. He smiled when I tried to pin him down with a follow up but was still not forthcoming.

I spoke to him briefly after the AGM about the hook up procedure and it's pretty straight forward really. Just need that small window of calm weather.

FWIW I agree with you that about a month should see FOIL.

I think it's pretty safe to say that nobody on here knows the details of the contract between BW and HUR.

The only thing that I think is safe to assume, is that the sooner the AM is hooked up to the buoy and producing oil the better for both parties.

CA were buying on this occasion and took their holding to above thee 5% threshold hence the RNS.

I suspect, having bought about 5M shares, they were keen to let the market know they were supporting the stock.

Suggest you at least get your facts straight if you are going to bring up the subject again.

Maybe best to forget about CA, at least for a month or so.

For next week, If oil holds and builds on it's gains from Friday, after a good result at the OPEC meeting, it will be interesting to see if the bottom for HUR was in at 40p and whether or not we get treated to a gentle/steady rise on the way to the buoy hooking up and FOIL.

My view FWIW, is this will be the case, as long as Brent doesn't go back below $60 again.

I'm no fan of CA but to set the record straight, CA do not short HUR, or any other stock for that matter.

They certainly take the opportunity to trade it a bit though, so don't be fooled by the "CA are just keeping to 20% of portfolio" line. RB is trading away and banking some profit for his fund.

CA have sold into every big rise and quite often have bought back in when the SP has dropped back again. That's trading the stock whichever way you cut it.

It is infuriating when they sell into the rise (Kerogen have not sold a single share to date) but it is to be expected to some extent and they are doing nothing wrong.

It's swings and roundabouts really. They can limit the rise in the SP and provide some support to the SP when it's near the bottom. I would argue that the effect is not that great. It's the sentiment really. I would prefer larger shareholders not to trade the stock.

I'm surprised at you being in the "train set" brigade.

Just an observation but I think you should know better than that. I know you also attend the AGMs (and we've briefly met) but I think this analogy is just not true. I'd be interested to hear what all the others who have met RT think on that score.

IMHO it was just another mean, unjustified snipe from RB.

HUR haven't had any other offers to FO any of their acreage when he said it and as soon as they do (Spirit) they take the deal, so the "train set" analogy just doesn't hold water.

I'm quite frankly amazed that you find RT arrogant. I've met him 4 times now and had the opportunity of a long chat one to one at GM (not an AGM) and he is just not that sort of bloke.

HUR and RT have better things to do than make decisions based on "sticking two fingers up at the majors". Get real.

The deal is done. Nobody else was interested at the time. That was the only option and the HUR BOD chose that over no deal at all. Move on.

The key thing is GWA is being drilled and appraised in 2019 and hopefully will significantly increase HUR reserves.

GLA is still 100% owned by HUR and is totally separate from the GWA and of significant magnitude to be of interest to a major on its own.

Having said that no major is going to have an issue with splitting GWA 50% anyway (IMHO) if they also want a slice of GWA action. It's quite possible any future deal will be with more than one party anyway such is the magnitude of HUR's assets.

If they wanted the whole of HUR's assets then they should have made a move earlier.

The key point with the Spirit deal is that it broke the "buyer's strike" and has significantly speeded up the development and appraisal of the GWA.

This is especially true now the price of Brent has bombed out. How much drilling would HUR have managed on their own in 2019 with Brent at $60 odd without putting the company at risk ?

We also now have a strategic partner and are in a much better negotiating position going forward.

Of course, Spirit were going to get a good deal and for the avoidance of any doubt, it is a very good deal for them.

However, it also suits HUR's purposes too.
