I've only been around this share for a few months, but I would have thought a market correction would favour this share. We are already at fairly low levels and as a pharma company would be seen as something of a safe haven?

Got to agree. 3% jump in Oil prices should certainly get the buyers jumping on board on Monday. Would not be shocked to see it sail past 500 on the opening bell.

Taking a bit of profit is always good. My trading pot is but not my long term holding. At this point I am happy to let it ride. Most bad news is behind us. Oil prices are low so potentially some growth in oil prices to $ 64 - 70 will only help boost the sp.

Very true, but at �4.5m that is definitely a long punt. I would think they are here for the income, rather than the capital gain. Could have been an annuity provider spotting a chance to invest in a 7% income. With a longer view of 10+ years on an investment they can be pretty certain that 7% income will grow in line with inflation and cover any annuity payments.

Depends if you are playing this long. I plan to hold for years. Looks for a doubling of my capital and a yeild of 10% on purchase price in 4 years time.

470 would be good enough for me today. 1% a day is still double your money after less than a year.

SP holding up well despite the overnight fall in the Oil Price. In fact since the 26th of Feb, looking at the charts this SP has broken away from any link to the Oil Price. Price of Oil has gone from $67 to $64. -4.5% fall SP from 437 to 468 +7% rise If the POO was going in the right direction or even just holding steady this would probably have made 500 already on no news. When we hit 570 the POO was close to $70, so it will only need oil to tick up slightly to really push us on.

All depends on your time frame. I have no urgent need for my capital back in the next 20 years. If course if the car packs in tomorrow plus a few other items I'll need to sell, even at a loss. But so long as I stay employed, I can wait till this recovers.

A few weeks of slow growth is fine by me. Considering a few weeks ago 400 was the support level, we've improved massively since then and volumes of trades are consistent. Filling in those gaps on the way up make it much more difficult for shorters to push this down. What none of us know is the average sp that shorters hold. Whilst some are on losses from shorting in the 420-440 range that is only a portion of their positions. If most of the sells were at 600+ there is a long way to go to squeeze them out.

I think the key is not to worry about day to day fluctuations. For me it's about the long term indicators. Dividend yield : Debt levels: Cashflow: Profitability: And then compare what you would do with your money instead. At a yield of 6%, it beats any bank hands down and is better than most other yeilds on blue-chip shares.

All true, but you can trade and invest. I'm doing both in this share. Jumped in too soon on the falling knife at 666. But also have a bundle to trade at lower values. I may miss the big jump on the trading pot, but will still catch it with my initial investment.

May explain the pressure down on the sp on the day of results. But frankly the sp has rebounded since and they still have to buy those shares back. So overall nil effect and they have to hope it drops.

Is a steady day disappointing? Normal levels of volume and no wild swings. Behaving like a normal share.

You've listed 5 small trades today, you call it manipulation but the most significant factor is that there have only been 8 trades in total so far today. There will be little movement one way or the other until the debt issue is settled. There are similar issues in far bigger companies, I'm in GSK and there too debt reduction is an issue keeping the shares down. Reduce debt and investors will see some hope here, but at current levels of debt no one wants to buy as it feels like throwing money away.

It does seem like Henderson Global have cashed in some of their short positions. But that's only understandable, as they took that position back in December so time to cash in. But they still hold most of their short positions in this and AQR Capital Management increased their position as recently as the 22nd. So they are not buying back those shorts in droves. Will explain the dead cat bounce this morning though.

They are the shorts as of 22nd of January. So no major increase since then. Surprising really. So unless there are many shorts below the 0.5 margin they don't seem to making a big play to short this share. Just holding positions they already had. Of course the report maybe a few days behind but if not the this drop has little to do with the big shorts.

I've been watching the short positions too, the difficulty will be that you only know the short position after it has been taken. So those 4% positions were taken some time ago. Who knows what short positions where taken yesterday. Shorters will have been falling over themselves to jump in. The question is have they already piled in and we are waiting for the record of their position or are they still selling today? Next Week? I waiting on PFC thinking it has levelled off after a few days. Only to find it fall a further 250p after the weekend with no more announcements
