Shares slumped by almost 20% on Friday and have continued falling, after key U.S. grocery retailer Kroger signalled a shift away from large automated Customer Fulfilment Centres, operated by OCADO.
Kroger recently told analysts that it is taking a βhard lookβ about whether to continue with the automated facilities and highlighted the strength of its own in-house store network, which can reach 97% of customers with two-hour deliveries.
Neil Wilson at Saxo Markets said Kroger βseems likely to move away from the kind of large Customer Fulfilment Centres provided by the British company,β
Morgan Stanley warned of an βincreasing riskβ that Ocado C.F.C's will be closed.
& don't get me started on the huge amount of debt that OCADO still needs to service and eventually repay to its Lenders !!
