I can imagine the pen pushers scratching their heads when they see the word Affimer...'what the heck is that?'...'Never heard of it'...'not on my list mate'...can't find any reference to affimers on my computer/in my data base'...'Sorry, we're going to have to put you in the PENDING pile until we get chance to run this by the boss'. Diagnostics has always been about taking samples and testing and hoping finds something or in the case of your GP a best guess based on symptoms but as we know many diseases/viruses don't manifest symptoms...so the move now is to digitalize diagnostics. A simple test that can be administered to pick up one or more diseases/viruses which may be present but not easily or quickly detected using current methods....

Companies like DV and their partners are in this space and one of their 'key' partners is Avacta. We have new tech going into new tech...NO WONDER IT'S TAKING TIME...

They are based on pregnancy tests which have been around for years and they all use well understood/known tech...Avacta is the only one using Affimer tech which is new.
Yes they have all been re-purposed to pick up Covid19 in in that respect they are all new, but we are new on all levels...

Howzaty...he should also look into industry connection Sir John Bell has and why the Govt spent millions setting up UK production...is this now going to be used to onshore Chinese LFTs instead of UK developed...

I know this will seem an odd thing to say but what about...where it matters.

Huge volumes for airlines, businesses, test/trace etc are/will be needed. Chinese made can fill this need and does it really matter if they are not so highly sensitive.

However from a Govts point of view which locations will need highly sensitive tests...NHS etc

Is the Govt simply looking at cheap Chinese for everything regardless or are they looking at a two tear situation. Is the original Consortium dead and buried...

Are not a solution for the majority. They have to be taken within 3 to 5 days if symptoms...quick and accurate testing will be key and still very much needed.

If a company RNSs...tech transfer is taking place and when complete we anticipate production to increase from 1m to 5m...
They have informed the markets so no need to put out s new RNS when it actually happens.

What companies have to do is RNS anything which has not been mentioned or new circumstances which will have a financially material/significant effect on the company...Good or Bad...

Where my disappointment comes from is the fact the company always states they will update the market but never say when and how and therefore leave shareholders hanging. IMO too many times the updates come out in the video presentation which not all shareholders take time to watch or as little notes in RNSs towards the end which again get missed.

To overcome this many companies offer up a monthly or qtrly shareholder update and I for one think its time Avacta offered this now especially since they have closed the door on direct access and many questions never get answered in the video Presentations.

If approvals aren't forthcoming quickly then LFT shortages could be on the near horizon as the 40 odd only have a few months grace period and how many overall approvals will there be when all deadlines are reached...

Herein lies possible issues...our tech is new...are they prepared to stick their neck out and approve ours...the approval should be totally science lead.
We need to make sure the box checkers don't throw us out because they CANNOT simply check a box on a form stating it is a nuclocapsid based test.
