3. High prices being paid for heavy slate due to shortfall.. We produce heavy oil, we says to me any Iraqi crude cuts should be in lighter slate crudes. That would make most sense.

If accompanied by a "resumed pumping RNS I'd go for about a 160p open tomorrow. However I'd expect to see steady climbing from that point over next few weeks as long as all news is favourable for our company. Already earmarked some dry powder ready for tomorrow.

Also appears to show that we need a way of transporting crude oil from PF1 to PF2, as PF2 still has ullage, Cant believe that its that difficult to achieve.

Another major factor to consider is the promising settlement to the argument that has been running for ten years.
During this time because of the fear that they might be blacked for Bagdad awarded contracts, sued for handling Kurdish oil by SOMO or fear of investing due to contracts being deemed illegal has resulted in a much more difficult operating and investing environment for GKP. Many big investors have been put off from investing here, due to the ongoing dispute. If this now lifts it could herald a new beginning for GKP.

Actually think that size of tank storage is pants quite frankly. Knowing the location, difficulty in speedy repairs such as pipework (clips as leaks will soon be commonplace ), and wear items such as pump seals. 2 investment items which will literally pay for themselves with just one use will be 2 decent tanks of min 100k tons. For these standard tanks I doubt it would be more than 20M, pounds and would hold 36M $ worth of crude each based on $60 a barrel.
Actually worth starting it now, as I expect there have been multiple occasions already where tankage capacity has effected production.

So our storage capacity is 150K barrels or 25K tons of crude.
Expect the inventory imbalance is just from the tank level when exports ceased. IE When exporting would pump out one (QC passed or tested) tank to the low level alarm then swap to the other tank, while the one you have pumped out fills.
Thats fairly standard practice as you want to minimise valving operations, while maintaining steady export pumping operations. Seen some locations briefly stop the export pump, while others which is the preferred practice, put the export pump on recycle, complete the tank valve changeover, then take it off recycle. This is to avoid "gassing up " the pump, which can lead to seal damage. Normally limited time available on recycle, unless tank recycle.

Production may not have stopped from our facility.
One of the first actions would be to reduce to tech min. To preserve well life.
Then depending on total tankage available and inventory level before it started (probably min level), might take a few days to fill.

It's a shame about Mikey Admin, we lost contact after it started dropping after the meteoric climb. He was a nice honest poster who also believed in Todd.
I was also stunned to read about our ex chancellor being with GKP. Knew the fat cats were at the milk all the time but didnt put the two names together until a poster on here kindly mentioned it.
Another poster made an "off the cuff" remark the other day and it struck a cord in me as being spot on.
In essence he said, "the dirty money coming from back handers and disappearing oil has now been converted to stock".
Certainly worth consideration, and without dwelling on the past which has more rumours and plots than JFK, its certainly a very strong possibility that a lot of the profits coming out of GKP as past and future dividends may fall into such hands but now fully legal and above board. We can never beat them as its their land and oil, however those jumping on board could get a very profitable ride.

Choking back production will extend well life and result in more extraction so prefect sense.
Not sure how big our storage tanks are?? Anyone know.
I did e mail our company years ago and asked for the planned treatment facility to have upgraded storage.. Just that in many years of similar operations its always the failing point, and actually doesn't cost much more to achieve at construction and planning stage.

Another 26M spent on buying and removing 18M shares off the books. And a few more bob saved on divis, (not going to say how much, as I'm in the company of banking investors, and bound to get it wrong and be pulled up lol).

I believe we had a lot of hot money riding on our RNS, the timing was fairly predictable and close to last years announcement. Next throw in a share price that had been on a downward trend and the common knowledge that our company was actively pursuing a potentially great acquisition. They were expecting either some news of that or something more positive about Croda and expected a serious price jump on the RNS (sell the news gang). When both failed to materialise they had to withdraw funds regardless so got out at best price they could achieve at that time, which caused the sudden downwards spike.
Actually don't think investors sold low, more like traders being burnt. Somehow dont think theres much pity on this board for them..lol.
Anyway could be "off the mark", but its an explanation that fits with what I saw, and well played for that took advantage of the oversold position.

think we have to realistic on amount saved on a .06p divi thats 9M, which although a fortune to me, isnt much for a huge banking giant. But guess every penny helps. Might pay the salary of half our board.

Yes it will save on the dividend for shares liquidated. Just found my local Barclays has shut, know this is still happening all over the country and must certainly increase profits to the btm line as shops and staff costs continue to be culled.
Previous recovery's from banking crisis do tend to take a period of time, so certainly not late to jump on board. I'm just waiting for the new tax year to top up my isa first.

Also seeing some pretty chunky buys which does smack of institutional support, as well as signs of traders exiting with some nice profits for an overnight hold.

yep AS , just logged on which is unusual for being so late. You are correct in that it gives additional value to OPTI stock.
However we are only just above the strike price of 16p, so not that attractive for traders or the investors on here that swing both ways so to speak.
Whether the trend continues I really hope so, but believe it will have to be news driven.
