I saw that article and it made me chuckle. Amazon were meant to have abandoned rmg and started delivering their own. It didn't last long before they came running back. And he has the cheek to say our capacity was struggling! Anyway, all this comparing parcel only delivery firms with rmg is nonsense in itself as we are not a parcel only delivery firm. We have a little distraction called the USO and letters (although by all accounts in 10yrs time there won't be letters anymore) yeah, right......

As a matter of interest, if the govt were to re nationalise rmg, where would the money come from to pay out all the shareholders, and at what price would we be paid out. Has this ever happened before?

Possible that the 'gig economy' news today regarding having to possibly pay sick and holiday pay with better terms is seen as a downside to some of our 'rivals' such as hermes etc thus eliminating some of our 'competition' ? Who knows. One thing I will say is it ain't all done and dusted regards the new 'deal' on the table. As I'm sure you know as a postie, a yes to it is gonna be touch and go, if my office mood towards the conditions is widespread accros the business.

The service is suffering not because of the overwhelming majority of posties (there are some bad ones,granted) ,but the actions of management. They run the show, we are, as you say, the monkeys!
