Rights price plus price to take up RI = £2.55 . SP =£2.44 ish. And that's with a strengthening GBP. Selling rights and immediately ( if you can) buying ordinary shares on the open market with earmarked RI money and proceeds of RI sales DOES work out slightly favourable even with dealing costs if you have a fair holding. Sadly at work so couldn't do it myself. Good news is RI take up price is only £1.81.5 now.

Halifax have just quoted a figure in £ worked out at £1.82 ish . Doing something right for a change.

Maybe if the cashless uptake option is selected, there is no commission fee, like if you just buy the rights? But if you choose to sell them yourself then yeah they're going to charge as a normal trade.

Evanscent, wouldn't say they've missed the boat. If they'd bought £10k worth on last day to qualify for rights, @350 and brought their entitlement this week, they'd have an average sp of £2.96. so if they just buy £12,500 now, they'd have an ave sp of 30p ish a share less, so be around 10% better off actually. So they haven't actually missed any good boat anyway.

£1.92? There's gonna have to be a drastically weaker pound for them to need that! So what happens if you have enough in your account to take all your rights at say £1.83 but they want to ring fence a lot more? Do you not get your full rights even if you had enough money in account for £1.83? Halifax have said they want X amount based on currency at the announcement, which sounds much more sensible. They have done me out of one RI share though. Got 4074 normal and only issued 1939 instead of 1940 for some reason.

coolhand, £1.91? really? thats a conversion rate of 1.125 and it's currently 1.175. Do barclays know the gbp is gonna crash or something? or just ripping you off.

One very good point to highlight in your answer is DO SOMETHING. If you don't then according to Halifax you will GET NOTHING. So at the very least get the value of your rights shares.

Correct Nath. You're gaining any SP rise on more shares. As you pointed out although they are worth the same now , any increase in SP is going to generate that increase on a larger holding.

No, nothing. Think UK had to have notification by 12th so Monday most likely. Halifax are always slow.
