RE: Your TUI Investment Hasn't Just Dropped 15% in Value8 Oct 2021 14:28
Nath. They have given you for free the allocation you are due, of rights issue shares. You can buy these for £1.83 depending on exchange rate, or you can from next week actually trade your free rights issue shares normally, the price you get will be sp at the time minus the value of the rights shares (£1.83). If you sell them all you will be left with your original number of normal shares and that will be at your average price per share yesterday, i.e diluted BUT you will have the cash from the sale of your RI shares. This will have the EFFECT of lowering your average BUT not actually lowering your average in your account if you get what I mean. Takes some getting your head round but simple when you do.
You could also intruct your broker to sell as many RI shares as they need to to buy whats left of your RI ,would be roughly sell just under 2/3 to buy just over 2/3. This method would then not require you to stump up any extra cash. However as you said you sold enough yesterday to buy your full allocation, that would work out better in the long run I'd say. Hope that helps you.
