Only the latest of many stupid remarks! I can agree with the idea of an investor wanting to crystallise losses in anticipation of higher CGT but they should be holding ZIOC shares within an ISA. If their holding is outside an ISA then, at the moment, any gain over £3k is taxable. Anyone holding ZIOC outside an ISA is crazy. Maybe a temporary blip in the SP unless something more sinister is behind the plunge. Always expect the worst and you might end up pleasantly surprised.

Answer for Veteran10: I don't drink spirits but Zanaga is making me reconsider! In fact, not been drinking much at all lately - too depressed. In theory, it doesn't make any difference what the SP is if/when the takeover offer materialises but I'm sure it must have an effect. Were the SP 50p (and why isn't it?) then a takeover offer of 100p looks reasonable but not if the SP's 3p. Another thought: if a company is planning to make a sensible offer then why aren't they hoovering up cheap shares? A few decent buys would soon quadruple the SP. Mr Market appears to be indicating some kind of disastrous announcement is imminent but WTFDIK? WTF does anyone know apart from Mr Elphick?

the zioc sp plunged 11.13% this week which contributed to my pf having its worst week for four months - down 7.5%.

Could it be that the disconnect between gold and gold stocks is because circumstances have changed? The planet could be self-destructing far faster than climate scientists predicted. Only this week it's been reported that CO2 is not being absorbed how they thought it would - in fact, it's not being absorbed at all! Maybe by the time gold explorers are actually mining the metal tins of baked beans will be more valuable?

We might as well be waiting for Godot but do any daily events apart from the start of WW3 have the slightest impact on any company's long-term commitment to develop an iron ore mine? Sad to see the SP allegedly down yesterday which wasn't supposed to happen after a buy signal. I'd be interested to know how much Mrs Veteran's new kitchen will cost. When it comes to kitchens less is more but it can still be expensive. And for God's sake get the ergonomics right!

I increased my holding just before close of business @ 0.027p which showed as a sell. Then just after close of business there's another "sell" of 10m shares @ 0.026p which I suspect is a buy at mates' rates. TOM is looking very vulnerable. And possibly highly profitable.

Does TPET have the same trouble attracting finance as TOM? Larger oil companies have paid serious money for acreage in this area. 1p by Xmas?

Everyone else has ignored you up to now but I find your contributions far more interesting than those of the regular contributors although I'm sure you patronise all of us by assuming we're unfamiliar with Britishbulls.com which I used to consult a lot when I first started investing. Not sure why I lost interest apart from developing a highly-concentrated buy-and-hold PF which has so far been a disappointment. As you point out, following Britishbulls' recommendations re: ZIOC would have generated a decent profit! This week my smallest jackpot was banked after GRX announced they'd been awarded £252m compensation after claiming £737m. Just hoping LOGP don't receive similar treatment.

That's a very difficult question VernetLes! PRD is currently valued @ £55m with EOG @ £10m and a suspended LOGP @ £1m.

Bearing in mind LOGP's anticipated compensation has been ring-fenced I'm not sure they're worth much at all if they've lost their 20% interest in Barryroe. Wild guess: PRD 75% EOG 20% LOGP 5%.

Always looking at houses Veteran10 but I've cut my coat to suit my cloth! Current dream house in an idyllic location costs £385k but it's leasehold with a £3k per annum service charge which includes water, buildings insurance, exterior decoration, gym, swimming pool & tennis court. I'd prefer freehold but with so few years left to live a very long leasehold isn't a problem - I currently rent in an idyllic situation so it would be nice to move to another. A cottage down the lane is for sale @ £1.3m simply because their location is similar to mine. To buy my dream house and a new car means I need at least 75p for my Zanaga shares. I suspect the offer will be either way below or way above! GLA!

"Mr Market" definitely exists! What gives him life is the share price determined by a computer based on the day's share transactions. I share your concerns about being too old to enjoy whatever ZIOC decides to bestow upon us.
