Back in June I sold some ZIOC in order to increase my holding in TOM. You commented "Why o why?" and viewed the number of shares in issue as a negative. Yesterday TOM was # 1 Top Riser after making progress. Unlike ZIOC where the SP has fallen 40% since June and zero progress has been made. No doubt there's a lot happening behind the scenes, as ever, but how long before something ACTUALLY happens? Does Elphick even understand "shareholder value" and his part in creating it? Or destroying it! After all this waiting I'm now expecting 900p a share or why did I bother?

Maybe in days of yore but not now! Companies are queueing up to invest in Utah which suddenly has the best oil you can buy. Something to do with the wax. As TPET has already commented, the potential is "both immense and highly profitable."

Buys to sells almost 14-1 and it's only up 0.7%? Currently the discount to NAV is a whopping 70% which might attract takeover interest but I'm happy to just sit back and wait for dividends to be resumed sooner or later.

Google reporting a 2.3m buy @ 4.03p at 1240 - no sign of it here!

It's even worse than worse! Why no mention here that there's been a war going on in Cameroon since 2016? It might explain the lack of SP rise!

Speaking as one of the shocked, scared and sidelined I was amazed by the catastrophic drop but it's par for the course these days - good news can be bad news for any SP. Assuming future profits will be at least double current Mkt. Cap. I'm expecting a steady upward rise from here with the hope of a takeover offer along the way.

Or, at worst (or maybe it's the best hope), an RTO: "a reverse takeover is the acquisition of a public company by a private company so that the private company can bypass the lengthy and complex process of going public." I wonder what TOM is worth on that basis? Must be a lot more than £1.37m!

If I were PowerChina I'd be thinking about a takeover offer around 5p - a fraction of what KP2 will be worth when the mine is up and running.

Only hope KP2's negative response to good news isn't replicated here! Can you imagine a takeover offer sending the ZIOC SP down? I think anything's possible! I wasn't expecting a huge rise in KP2 as the news was expected but, even so, a 17% plunge is ridiculous.

Typical buy on rumour/sell on news behaviour by the SP almost certainly exacerbated by the trading halt in Oz and SA. Plus the 43 months construction period is a dampener. On the bright side: future mining profits will dwarf the current Mkt. Cap.

A. Because they have to persuade existing shareholders to sell and ZIOC is not in distress.

GLEN and Mr Elphick own 55% of ZIOC between them so effectively whatever price they accept will just have to do for the remaining shareholders. Hopefully they will demand the highest possible price because Mr Elphick has a duty to maximise shareholder value. Therefore, in order to buy the company the takeover offer must satisfy both major shareholders. Alternative scenario: GLEN don't accept the takeover offer but Elphick does and sufficient shareholders agree with him in order to swing the vote. Either way, the low SP makes no sense at all but, at the same time, it is largely irrelephant to the final outcome. No doubt extrader will correct me if I'm wrong.

14 years of progress ought to be worth more than four pence! ZIOC may be "worth" three times the IPO price but I doubt PIs will see anything like that amount. 156p would suit me perfectly and is 56% more than I'm hoping for.

KP2 is currently a 9-bagger from its 52 week low in anticipation of a deal.

News of which will presumably send the SP even higher.

Meanwhile ZIOC is an embarrassment.

i can't find it on the website either! just a mention of the rns directing anyone interested to the website! what a ******* shambles of a company this is! apart from anything else, isn't the zanaga saga very embarrassing for glen? you'd think they would want to put it behind them and, at the same time, do the deal of the century! we're still waiting.

And I go very large! At the same time, I think a takeover is more likely to give us a jackpot here rather than trying to persuade punters not to sell into every rise which has always been a problem even when the SP was multiples of what it is now in days of yore.

More or less agree with you. I used to think I owned 12 acres of Utah via my investment in TOM but those days are over.

Anyone looking at their website which appears to be long overdue for updating can't fail to notice "further 55m barrels of oil in place for in-situ recovery" which certainly makes a mockery of the current SP. And whatever happened to TOM being a sand company with oil on the side? Didn't I read somewhere that sand can be more valuable than oil?
