I agree Nanonano but if Nanosys had a process that could deliver the right quality at the right volume (fair assumption if the collaboration with LG is producing commercial products) and that process doesn't leave the signs NANO says reveal their process then why didn't Samsung use that? Conversely, if they did and it does leave the same signs as NANO's process then the smoking gun in the patent case has got a missing firing pin.

A third possibility is that LG did the research with Nanosys and have had to go to someone like NANO through one of their partners maybe to build product in commercial volumes and that's why Nanosys aren't crowing about these new TVs.

Looks like you're right PPE. What's more worrying is that the suspiscion with Nanosys is that they can't produce high enough volume. If they can and Samsung partenered with them do Nanoco in fact not have case?

I think you hit the nail on the head booboouberbear. The market needs to see some actual inflation before bowing to reality not just expect it to come. It's been missing for so long that people have have forgotten it exists and what it's impacts are. These are of course the conditions of a bubble that when it does burst will result in uncontrolled runaway inflation.

My own feeling is starting to chrystalise around a large Biden stimulus that is spent well on $2,000 cheques; state and local government support; and infrastructure based around the green new deal. This will initially result in a recovery in the US with accompanying $ rise but then once the consumer is spending again like there's no tomorrow the inflation will hit. It's just a guess because who can call these things really.

Yeah, I would say that the fact LG uses cadmium free dots is just interesting at the moment. Nothing more.

Agree with your analysis of a diminished USA Colonel but it remains to be seen how much of a Trumpian phenomenon it is. His foriegn policy has been a disaster. If Biden can pull together the coalition again by building relationships back with allies the west can be shored up. Worrying that the EU signed their China deal without waiting for him to come into office. They've obviously learned a valuable lesson from the Trump years. It's a good deal though if it can be enforced. That's the acid test.

Disagree that gold is pure though. The gold price is a number in a machine and as devorced from supply and demand as any other IMO.

An out of court settlement can happen anytime from now right up until the jury is about to render their verdict during the case.

The markets are all sentiment. Dems might push through higher stimulus but they will spend it a lot better than the Republicans. That might result in a higher dollar putting pressure on gold. One would expect it to ultimately be inflationary though and other countries will follow the US lead. Even if gold has a dip it should push higher as this all comes out in the wash.

A good night for the Dems in Georgia is giving POG a boost due to renewed stimulus hopes as well.

Not for NANO. It would have to be an enhanced version including our 2D materials rather than the sensor out there currently being used in the Pro. Thanks for finding though. I'll post it over on the IQE board. Good news for them.

This gets complicated quite quickly but that one's saying that since gold will be moved from being a tier 3 asset to a tier 1 asset then financial institutions that have been deterred from holding gold as a reserve because it doesn't count as part of their tier 1 capital will now have that deterrence removed and therefore may buy gold. Makes sense. Sounds like the opposite of what Trek's link says which is that gold has not been granted High Quality Liquid Asset status but these are different terms so both may be true.

Some of the target product lines would imply they do yes. They had hundreds of millions in advance orders which makes one wonder about BIOM's technology since they're not at double figures millions despite having products on the market for a long time. That was just one example though. There are lots of other innovations being made from plastic eating bacteria that decompose all plastics to rapidly degradeable compounds. No one knows how close they are leaving the lab and most have to be highly targetted. Just noting it as a risk. It wouldn't surprise me to see the coffee pod market snatched awy pretty quickly unless BIOM can innovate rapidly but I've not seen anyone else try to tackle tree planters yet.
