Agree Dogberry. Lots of work still to be done and it might well be the case that VRS is ahead of TGR in bringing a graphene product to market. Another property I thought might be important is brittleness. If it's brittle it might not be any good for wires. On the other hand TGR already has revenue streams with it's graphite business and if the CEO is right that they can be selling the alimimium composite in commercial quantities to multiple customers in a few months then excellent.

I've got some shares in Tirupati as well as VRS iantobach. It's a very exciting company. However, with their new material they will now enter the period of scaling production, trialling with potential customers, product development and striking deals. Happy to be along for the ride but it's likely to a long process.

While experience with similar companies tells me that it will take several years further develoment before this starts being used commercially and contributing to the bottom line it sounds like a fascinating new product.

IMO the innovate grants are so small and government ability to understand technology so low that they do throw money lots of projects hoping some will produce success but nearly all won't. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I think there's a role for just trying things out if they don't cost much. But no anyway, Nanopore do gene sequencing. Completely unrelated to virus testing.

From Churchil sending jet engines to Russia and Thatcher personally forcing through Clyde shipbuilding technology transfer to South Korea to George Osbourne demanding that Chinese researchers be given access all areas passes to the Graphene Institute I'm sure the Tories are looking on at Samsung stealing NANO's technology (if they are aware of it) and thinking, "Job done." I don't know. The articles mentoining quantum dots are from 2014; and the boe one is talking about the front facing camera and an OLED display. Too tenuous for me.

Very much doubt there would be any NANO dots in there. I think we would have heard something from the company. However, to give us some hope Nanonano the iPad Pro is a low volume unit. I'm not sure it would take much supply.

So that ties in perfectly with some admittedly wild theorising on here after the interims were published. I noted that where they say, "Our R&D efforts in sensing materials also continued throughout the Period. We are now able to offer different material sets and also new materials that are capable of absorbing much longer wavelengths of infrared light at specifically targeted bands such as 1,400 nm, 1,550 nm and 1,800 nm." It matched IQE's new longer wavelength VCSELS that can be used build under screen sensors.

A sensor using those VCSELS enhanced with nano particles would be an amazing peice of kit. I'm sure it will come down to cost of production as to whether we see such a thing. It's all there on page 31 though.

I hope it doesn't come with the dreaded burn. I've been turned off OLED for life by that.
