Berenberg have reiterated hold status on PFG but cut SP target to 470 from 540 which seems odd given earnings forecast so we shall see

Well I guess the doomsayers will be in “told you so” mode as a lot of small sellers have knocked the price since the Q3 update but I’m going to hold for the full year results. This isn’t a recommendation as I can see why many that bought at the lower levels might think there’s now no point in holding on and are looking to buy back in on short term weakness.
The next price sensitive announcement will be the FCA verdict on Moneybarn and hopefully the £20m provision the company made will be adequate or I’ll certainly have egg on my face as a holder. GLA DYOR usual caveats apply

Plus a lot of small trades currently off 5.5p but WS down on trade worries

Maybe this is the shakeout of the old Woodford holding

Good to see positive broker comment and shares pull themselves off the deck having been £9 not so long ago

Upside feels uncertain but I’m holding for the longer term and would consider adding to my holding if they fell back into the £9.50-£10.00 range but as always not a recommendation and always DYOR

Just seen 2 ordinary trades of 40,000 and 23,000 shares bought so north of £1/4 million add to someone

PFG currently a lonely island of blue on a red screen of my watch list albeit only up 1.3p which might well change in minutes

I’d love to see that and think it’s a more realistic medium term goal than the £20 or £30 historical SP figure given the rights issue dilutive effect on earnings

I didn’t sell at 630 after NSF bid announced having got in at 590 so I’m the silly one

Current average 451 but could’ve gone in on last dip maybe like you did and dropped my overall average to current level :-(

I wonder if the politics hasn’t already been discounted or is relevant as near prime borrowers are going to be with us come what may? Having said that if the economy were to do worse I guess it could increase delinquency and hurt PFG? Find the whole situation impossible to read so I’m clinging to fundamentals and hoping for the best though that argument never made me money in the past :-(

I don’t think it’s that straightforward to be honest as it depends on what the market sentiment is for the sector at the time and the level of belief in management to deliver. Also the Woodford legacy stock overhang is a wild card as the administrators will want to realise the value for holders of Woodford fund by the year end. That said I suppose technically any rally in SP might provide them with a selling opportunity and so hold the price down ahead of the results but I’d not wish to be quoted on that!

Nice to see the shares breach 430 again no matter how short lived as I’m just wondering if this is Brexit euphoria

Still 3 weeks to the Q3 announcement and capital market day presentations so will be interesting to see how SP behaves

Hi this was by chance I have ADVFN which is a share trading platform and I happened to notice a sudden increase in trade volume which were two sales of 978,775 at 15.41 at 421.6 but I’ve set an alert for any RNS alerts so these get e mailed
I used to trade a lot but now only buy small amounts of shares to keep an interest going
Tip is never invest more than you can afford to lose and never on a recommendation on a bulletin board!

Though not showing on my trades there appears to have been a 1,957,800 sale of shares just now but no price move as yet. Will wait to see RNS
