I’m small fry in comparison so am looking to buy a top up at £16 having bought my first tranche at £20 so nobody is going to have to worry that I’ve a clue what I’m about but unless the world ends in which case nothing matters I am gambling the price will at least recover to my first purchase point in the medium term. Everyone’s circumstances differ so this isn’t a buy recommendation but I wish you and everyone else on this board the best of luck

Mathematically I was trying to get my head around whether the benefit of being able to buy half as many shares again for a given amount of cash could benefit shareholders in the long term but had totally lost sight of the argument re fundamental valuation
Have set my next buying price at £16 but shares have temporarily recovered from 1650 level to 1675 but now eyeing WS futures

Technical question anybody

If the share price keeps falling does the buy back by virtue of cancelling more shares make the EPS improve and dividend more affordable?

Sold some PFG to buy back before x Div if well under £4 and as a stop loss along with another financial stock for slight gain but other share already down 10% in 3 weeks and yes can’t see other than culprit being Covid-19 FTSE fures we’re down to mid 6600s and Nikkei down 3.2% as of now so I’m thinking a lot of cheap stock out there tomorrow and maybe cheaper yet. GLA and stay healthy

Yup Dow down 600 probably worse to come so in spite of results I’m selling some to try to buy back lower GLA

Me too but at least we collect the dividend soon and technically that’s a deduction from my average cost
It’s almost a cliche - results as expected and shares drop but as was mentioned there are other things going on that may have an impact and I guess the perception is there’ll be no news for a while do holders who bought in at lower levels maybe using their cash as a bolt hole or looking for a quick turn elsewhere if / when the market bottoms

Looking back to 2016 there was a support at £17 after it recovered from the pit it sank into that year but I’m guessing technical analysis goes out the window given we are in uncharted territory

I’m a very rusty investor that holds a couple of financial stocks that bought RDSB for first time at 1986p thinking it’d be good to get some sub £20 to tuck away

Think I’ll wait for £16 before buying again and average down to £18 repeating as necessary until I get it right as I believe it went all the way down to £13.50 at lowest point in last 7 years!

I’d settle for £20 by summer plus divi right now !

I’m wondering if shares are just switching between holders as two blocks of 318,801 shares went for 465.10 and a few days ago similar amounts were being bought at the same price

The fine was “only” £2.8 million so I’m not sure where higher figure comes from so may wait until announcement on 27th to get clarity

And the refunds were within the £20m provision so hopefully no nasty surprises on 27th

Yep Invesco down another 1% probably explains current drop in SP

SP down 20p over 2 days and a warning bell sounded when price kept moving up but then again I said I’d hold on so am enduring the pleasure and pain of holding s small company share

My BE is 451 with a modest holding compared to many I suspect but will hold for divi and try to cover loss made on McColls which I got badly wrong but which was a blowout when their carrier went bust

Looked at Shell down at 1964 with attractive divi but Coronavirus is a big unknown and if China / all of us literally gets a cold I can see trouble ahead
