I would say the main push up for gold these past weeks is the dollar being a bit less strong after a very long strong run.
But I think you're right Tacet when you say there are several contributing factors, not just one.

Yahoo!finance says today that the price of gold has risen 4.7% so far this week, heading for its biggest weekly gain since July 2020. A good run for gold would help the shares of every exploration company and every mining company, whatever metals they are into.

Romping ahead at 6% up.

This is the first month US inflation has been under 8% since February. It's good news for everything except the dollar, but we need a few more months of US inflation dropping before I will feel things are turning in our favour.
For now, happy to see precious metals in the blue again.

Meanwhile silver hasn't lost all of last week's gains, nor have the other metals.
A slow, stealthy silver rise is fine by me.

There's always something the last few years to cause prices to sag. UFO is just doing what all shares are doing, dropping.
The US is announcing consumer inflation figures this afternoon. Seems like a general market drop this morning because those inflation figures are expected to be bad.

I'm willing to take these small pushes into the blue, whether they get anywhere or not. It's been a miserable couple of years, investment wise.

I've got a good feeling about where the share price might go at the end of today. But it's been a good Friday even if we end flat.

The Fed didn't "announce" a slowing of interest rate rises, they hinted. And they didn't say when it would occur.
I got overexcited seeing Gotomoon's message.

I've been waiting for Goingtomoon to arrive: it says to me that things are looking up.
The US Federal Reserve has announced another 0.75% interest rate rise today and precious metals have turned red, so has Bitcoin . . .
But the Fed has also announced a slowing down of the interest rate rises from the end of this year (only 2 months away). Maybe at last everything the dollar has kept under its boot can start, very slowly, moving upwards. Including UFO.
