The current Covid variants are not as bad as the original, so hopefully the Chinese govt. will soon tone down its mega-lockdown strategy. That would be a great help to the iron ore price over the coming months.

Normbeef, I've been wondering what price UFO would have to get for the Hanc0ck iron ore to break even. You mention around $65 per tonne, do you think that's about right?
I'd be very relieved if so, since it means the current iron ore price (around $95/t) could drop quite a bit and Hanc0ck would still be good to go.

Perhaps Indians are economising this year and buying silver instead, it's rising quicker than gold this morning.

I guess anyone looking to acquire iron ore next year will put off signing for it for as long a possible, waiting for the best price forecasts at the end of this year. Otherwise it's like agreeing a price for a bag of potatoes before you know how big the bag is.

Some shocking price drops on the London Stock Exchange this week: young companies which would be doing fine in normal times are being chewed up by the "sell sell sell" atmosphere.
UFO has done well to keep above 0.5p since Monday.

As you say, a lot of shares did a lot of sinking last week. Gold and silver did well to hold onto their rise, and UFO did well to stay just in the green.

If good US jobs figures are expected to come today, the rise in the dollar (and fall in metals) might have shown itself already in the metals prices. Everyone is trying hard to stay ahead of the game.
I'll hope for $20/oz silver and $1700/oz gold, if that's a weekly breakout.

A big mental barrier for platinum is coming at $1000 per oz (currently it's $930 per oz). It would be great to see it push through in the coming weeks.

All the precious metals are in the green, just about. Every little helps. The stirrings of interest in gold are good for UFO too: it's good for all miners when the most famous metal gets going.

Silver seems to be bumping into a ceiling at $21/oz, but still 3 days left in the working week for silver to have another push upwards.

Those original miners must be excited by the silver price rise. They've waited a good long time!

A quick reopening of Elizabeth Hill would depend on UFO's iron ore getting to market and making a profit . . .

I watch the live precious metal prices on "usagold.com". They shut down for an hour at 10 pm or 11 pm UK time.
Wouldn't it be amazing if silver got to 10% up by then?
