So it would appear that the £40m in your report is not unusual, indeed if it was exceptional her report yesterday would not have had those words of comfort in it.
That is the game DLG are in, take in money from a lot of people and give some of it back to a much smaller number.

Tempus has a review on DLG today, quite a sensible one imo, better than usual anyway, well worth reading.

IMO you are both correct, this is a nice share to hold for income, it is a high yielder within a high yield sector, every dog has its day, just that this year it is not a doggy year, but its time will come

I also think the fall looks a little overdone, I just topped up which on an unchanged divi appears to be giving me a tad over 8% yield.
Looks a fair bet even in these tricky markets.

Thanks for the input, I don't have a card anymore as I read on this board a while ago what the new deal was.
I really hope that they find a good business model with this new CEO, the problem I see is that the habit of going to the local is not what it was, certainly in the south. I suspect covid has accelerated that trend.
On the other hand if people use their local as a restaurant that will be good for revenues, I guess we must "hurry up & wait" to see what evolves ?

Latest quarterly announced as 3p, unchanged from same quarter last year, which I believe, ignoring the special, makes 13.5p for the year, which on a price of 295p is a 4.4% yield.
I was hoping for a 3.5p divi as all the other 3 quarters of this FY enjoyed, but nothing to complain about eh ?

Good to hear we are mostly surviving these choppy markets, one upside though is that downward price trajectories do seem to discourage all the rampers & twitterati from competing against each other in their price predictions for tomorrow or next week, up 5p then, no no must be 7.5p on the candlestick chart (yawn).
Fact is, if one of them knew what was going to be in tomorrows newspaper today they wouldn't need to be on this board.

It is gratifying, indeed.
Probably the first time the shares have moved up after a results announcement for about 4 years from my memory. Certainly plenty of hurdles to clear with their debt pile but confidence in new management seems to be rising now they are being addressed.

Funny how a somewhat wobbly market quietens down this board from some of the eternal rampers, why even that fount of knowledge under the initials SC has yet to give us his wisdom for quite a while, & then by appointment only.

Well covid killed their dividends, though imho, the policy of reducing debt is unlikely to encourage the BoD to reintroduce any divis in a hurry, especially as I do not recall them saying that they repaid their furloughs, which I guess "spend it before you've got it" Findlay took as much as he could before his departure.
They could always pay a token divi but I see more chance of that happening after they lighten the debt up a bit, tbh.

ULVR must have every large VC company globally running their assets through their calculations. We are not talking 2nd or 3rd rate assets here, we are talking top global quality in many cases, and much of it is in food which never goes out of fashion.
The BoD have discredited themselves and major shareholders (Train/Smithfor instance) must be praying for a bid.

I am in broadly the same position as you & I also topped up ULVR today at sub 3680, fwiw my guess is Levers are probably now in play themselves, remember Kraft tried for them pre covid ?
It may be that Levers go quicker than GSK consumer products side, stranger things have happened....
