PE is not shorting this down in order to make a bid.

Nor is PE on the verge of making an offer at £3 or whatever number you happen to like the sound of.

However, the important thing is that the RNS this morning would have required the Board to consider whether they needed to disclose any other price sensitive information at the same time to avoid a false market. The fact that nothing negative was disclosed is helpful. IMO that makes this investable for the first time in quite a while. That’s why i went back in.

What happens to the share price in the next few weeks is however anybodies guess. And most of you will get it wrong.

Ephemeral - to finally answer your question….

I think that RNS is very useful. What it means is that there was nothing too nasty to disclose. That has changed the risk / reward balance and , IMO, means this is now investable.

So i bought 25,000 @106.9.

Anacott - and if they did that how do you think the market ( ie the real market, not this site ) would react. I would guess another 10% down.

I know there are some foolish people on this site but in the real world people don’t write articles simply to manipulate the market when there is the potential for 7 years in prison.

Here we go again - people distorting this announcement to suggest it supports takeover discussions. Unbelievable stupidity.

It’s a very helpful announcement.

But don’t get suckered by these people saying it suggests a bid. Quite the opposite.

I have no idea on fair value - i think we need to see updated numbers to work that out. There’s just been too much noise.

I said before we need an RNS to provide a bit of guidance about whether there is something nasty lurking out there.

We have now got an RNS.

I think that’s a real positive - not particularly for what it says but for what it doesn’t say ( ie bad news ).

On that basis I wouldn’t be selling today - irrespective of Putin and that impact. I might even buy back in.

Of course THG are getting prepared for a Defense. That’s normal and obvious when your share price falls. But it has nothing to do with whether there is a bidder.

Rock 8 - go and have a look at the definition of ‘ Actively Considering’’ in Rule 2.2. You will learn something that will help you in the future.

Anyway - even i realise that i am getting a bit over-obsessed with this - so switching off now.

Rock 8 - You believe whatever you think and act on that understanding. Good plan. It’s worked well so far. Or maybe you could read the actual rules and get informed.

However, to conclude on a happier note, this doesn't mean that other PE will not start looking at the situation. In fact, unless something is really badly wrong here there must be a decent likelihood that will happen. And if it does happen it will be hand in glove with MM with old guess. It’s just that it wasn’t happening 2 weeks ago.

The wording might seem a little odd - but if you really want to get into it you will find , for instance, what ‘ actively considering means.

Also read the notes to see what an ‘ untoward movement in its share price ‘ means.

When you go through it - if you are thinking - you will see exactly what it means and understand exactly how the market more generally understood that the share price would come off. PI’s buying kept it going for a while, but once that ran out of steam down came the price because no institution was remotely tempted.

Hosai - i actually wish it wasn’t’ t the case. But that was not corroboration from the ST.

If it had been - two things would have happened.

First, an RNS on Monday morning.

And, much more importantly, a bunch of smart hedge funds buying into THG in size driving up the share price to £2 or whatever.

The LTH people here think i don’t know what i am talking about regarding the RNS. They are wrong.

But they never seem to question why the hedge funds didn’t come in to make a massive guaranteed return.

You see the point now?

By the way - i am sure we should all agree that Blackrock is an unprofessional and short sighted institution. In many ways i think their decision to sell out entirely and the reasons they give for doing so are a very strong buy signal.

You see Hosai. I suggest you look at what Betaville actually said. Make your own mind up on the back of checking the source yourself. . And up pops someone to say “ ban’. Says it all really.

Hosai - you seem like a good guy. You didn’t say these things - of course. But that’s what is actually playing out at the moment. So it reflects how you are behaving.

All PI LTH’s should have sold a chunk at the very latest on the back of the Betaville rumour at 135p. It was the obvious thing to do if you weren’t wearing rose tinted spectacles.

As for Betaville - he called it UNCOOKED. Have you read his definition of what that means? I have set out before what this means but no-one was very interested. Take a look - it’s really important to understand his definitions if you are taking these things into account when you make an investment decision. You will see that the Betaville guy never claimed it was true - he was passing on tittle tattle. And that’s fine. - except it causes some uneducated investors to pile in / not sell when they should be doing the opposite.

By the way - when you make investment decisions it’s absolutely vital to ignore the share price. All you have to do is concentrate on your limited understanding of the company and hey presto it all works out well in the long term.

And you can safely ignore input cost inflation and what brand owners are doing .

You can also ignore interest rates .

And you can ignore the impact of inflation and tax / national insurance on UK consumer behaviour.

And you can ignore continuing sector rotation and changing risk appetite.

In fact i just cant think of any reason for THG’s price to have fallen . It’s just crazy - must be due to trolls and shorts.

Anyway - the good news is that i hear there are multiple PE firms working on a bid so that will get us back to £3 in an instant.

And i am sure you guys are quite right - there’s no way Putin is going to do anything which could impact markets negatively. In fact my portfolio is totally risk on and positioned for the Putin bounce too. BOOM.

Well if you don’t know why i was right and why if you had been a bit thoughtful you would have realised that the bid spec premium in the share price would evaporate then there’s no more to be said.

You should definitely keep going with your own investment strategy and market understanding with Oxford Bull and hereshopin. Maybe it will work out for you.

Oxford Bull - whether you agree or not is immaterial as your judgement hasn’t proved to be the best WRT THG.

My ramblings would have saved you considerable losses if you had the wit to understand them.

And your call on Putin seems premature when, if anything, he appears to be escalating ATM.
