Let me know how you get on TC as I believe that statement only applies to rights issues & some other offers .... but I've yet to see that the other offers includes an 'open offer' which is stated as carrying non transferable rights .... I'll be happy if you can prove/evidence otherwise :-))

...well I'd be a little surprised OBS as it's II .... but I have asked for direction to regulations that either categorically exclude open offers from purchase with funds outside & transfer out or a definitive list of issues & offers under which it can be done .... as stated previously this is not the first time I've had this issue with an open offer & a maxxed out ISA & previously had to let it go & accept a somewhat smaller quantity as excess outside of the open offer in my trading account - so if anybody actually manages it please let me know - YAP YAP seems to have been told he could elsewhere which was then subsequently denied..... ho hum we have a few days but to be fair I think it's a no go as I thought from the outset ..... Time may (or may not!) tell LoL

I will keep pressing TC .... If you're in the same position have you discussed to this with your broker yet & if so have they confirmed you can transfer the entitlement then?

Hi OBS/TC .... Indeed it was confirmed that had it been a 'rights issue' then a transfer of entitlement would be OK under the current legislation by completing an immediate transfer from ISA into the trading account by the ISA manager however because this is an open offer it is not eligible as open offer actions are not transferable.

I will keep checking as I will definitely have this as an issue although fortunately I have a few hundred K outside my ISA as well ...... but still keeping a wearher eye on the SP regardless. If anyone is able to get agreement & confirmation of their ISA entitlement under this (or other open offer) transferred into their trading account please do let me know.

....all just to advise that I have just categorically been advised by my broker that entitlement shares under an open offer are definitely not transferable from your ISA into your trading account .... so as this year's ISA is maxxed out & I have no cash floating in it I will need to sell shares in my ISA to take up the open offer entitlement I have in my ISA or lose it .... Just another spoke to add to the considerations - apparently (I am advised & as I previously mentioned here) open offer shares are not transferable between accounts & this is a regulatory rule & not specific to this open offer .... if anyone has evidence/proof to the contrary please let me know (preferably before Friday) so that I can revert .... ... Friday will be earliest decision day for me & will be 'considering' it & what the SP does in the interim ....

....I think some of the 'flatness' felt/seen in response is due in no small part that for many existing PI's there is/was no incentive to buy today with the open offer on the table ..... I'll have all I can cope with under my entitlement (won't stop me taking a few excess if I can though) but why would I as an existing holder with an open offer entitlement (& I suspect many others) buy today when a) it's more expensive & b) I can top up with my entitlement anyway.

...whilst you're not committed & can change your requests during open window holding off until the last moment also gives you the option of buying cheaper if the SP does drop below the offer price (which I don'tthink it will) .... options are endless until the closing date :-)

MrsB it should be payment day, but you have the whole period window to identify your requirements so if you need/want a little time to move funds around just hold off accepting your entitlement & identifying your excess application until the last day .... I suspect like myself & others you'll need a fair few grand just for your entitlement.

But really if you're uncertain call your broker...... I'm not sure there's going to be a huge excess allocation available though :-))

..... & for clarity £500k issued at a nominal value of 1p equates to an authority to issue 50,000,000 shares at the price they can achieve for them .... we can only hope the urgency of the raise at this time was warranted (i.e. for the 27% + secondarily excess for Oz explo).

I should also add that each open offer will have its own parameters, this one doesn't appear to be underwritten for instance & appears to have a fixed upper limit...... Others I've been involved with are similar whilst some have been underwritten & the number of shares & funds raised finalised only after all of the entitlements & excess requests have been made & measured... Consequently I have participated in offerings where I've received all, some & none of the excess/additional shares I've requested.

From previous experience with II there will be 2 options .... one with your entitlement shares which you can elect to take partially or in full & another for excess allocation which you can enter any number you like (providing you can fund it)

Once they have calculated how many 'entitlenent' shares have not not been taken they will share them out on a pro-rata basis to those who have requested additional.

Interesting EVB .... I shall be in touch with II as they told me the entitlement wasn't transferrable previously from an ISA into the trading account ... I shall have words ....

... as far as I'm aware the qualifying date for entitlement is 6pm on the 2nd Feb ... So whatever quantity you held at that time will be used to calculate your entitlment ..... existing shares are simply marked EX on the exchange as an indicator that there is a corp action in place as in ex Divi entitlement .... be interesting to see the SP action in the next week or two otherwise I'll be in the same boat as MrJ & simply taking it up in my trading account & applying for excess in that instead of worrying about my ISA.

Of course if it does go below the offer price (although I don't think it will) all of that will be a nonsense & I'll buy in the market....
