RE: Nervous Buyer16 Jul 2020 09:43
Hi tkd, I can understand the nerves. I would say that it a matter of how you feel about losses. If you have invested a small sum and you can afford to lose it then you shouldn't worry too much as you have applied a sensible attitude to investing. At the moment there is scope for movement both up and down. If things are very volitile say double digit % movements it can be tempting to panic and sell out, but the next day could just reverse that, so always better to wait until the next day. If movement is more gradual then it's a matter of seeing what the trend is. If its creeping up, then wait until you think you have made a sufficient profit. If it is gradually going down then its a case of deciding if you want to sell and keep (say) 50% of your investment or carry on holding if you think that the downward trend will end and it will begin to rise again. One thing that puts me off boohoo is the lack of a dividend to help mitigate the risk of holding long term, but generally I would say this is a good punt and I am considering buying myself. I am sure others on here will give some advise on risk and holding your nerve as well. Good luck.
