I can understand gold over the long term, always seems to be a safe bet. But why pharma? Pharma stocks have definitely been hot recently (nice), but do you think it's because of something intrinsic to pharma companies or rather do you think pharma companies are going to remain in the spotlight because of covid?

Rox, going back a few years people kept making comparisons between Val and Sclp. I don't think there is much merit in comparisons. I don't think there is much substitute for doing the leg work of looking at the accounts, historic performance, RNSs, directors deals and news reports. Boring I know, but probably the best approach.

Yup, I am pleased to see a RNS with an update and projected time table. At first glance looks like September is gonna be an interesting month.

Sambar, I don't see any legitimate reason to bar an application for shares from any particular broker. If you were a broker subject to a bar you would have grounds to complain that such a bar would affect your business adversely (customers wouldn't use HL if they couldn't get what they wanted). I would be more inclined that all the shares are sat with ValiRx's broker and will be released into the market in due course.

Just a minor ponit harley24, the lse details of shares in issue is not up to date. Should show 18m. Yahoo finance shows the correct figure, but both sites have some info that is out of date. The ValiRx*s own website seems to be best place to go for reliable info on shares in issue, directors holdings and other simular info.

What do you get with lse premium? Some information is available on yahoo finance than it is on this (standard) site. I assume you get live info on premium, but curious about wgat else you get on premium.

KTF. I think I looked at things they way you seem to be.
But I think that perhaps putting money into a biotech and expecting long term gain isn't a realistic goal because of periodic fund raising.
Perhaps companies like this are more about staged progress and staged gains?
What I mean is that long term value comes from crystallising profits on rises and leveraging profits at a later date, perhaps after a fund raise.

Nenny, I think you are judging the company as if it were still run by George and Satu.
A new approach to fund raising is required because of the mess those 2 made and because it is not a good look when the begging bowl keeps coming round.

Decent rises over the last couple of weeks
Funding avaible and given the amount, little reason to think the begging bowl will be coming round again soon.
Not sure when the results on 201 will be out, but it's clear that there is news yet to come.

Drac, Hope he didn't get grief after stating his age. Banter and abuse is par for the course on a lse bb, but it can't be nice stomaching a loss at that age and I think a respectful tone (even if people disagree with what he sad) is what's due under the circumstances.

Oh I didn't know ValJu a real name Drac. Looks ike he might have reached a break even ponit if he sold half his holding. Sound plan, if it goes up you make profit, if it goes down you can effectively average down without increasing your stake.

When I have had a right to purchase placing shares it has been referred to as an open offer. There is usually notification beforehand but I don't know if the shares have been distributed yet or not. Also it might be that I don't have a big enough holding to qualify for the open offer.

Yup badshah, I am thinking about taking the morning off! Who would have thought being a key worker would get in the way of making profit!

Eyeguy, did you sell on Friday and leverage profits this morning or did hold on Friday? If the former I guess your average is going to be pretty low!
