"Sadly the grades are not great, the locals think that they should be able to mine artisanally rather than allow some faceless overseas corporation take their only way of feeding the family (they may have a point).
The Government appears to have an, at best, ambivalent attitude (yet another law suit - which the company won but you have to ask what benefit it has brought the shareholders)
And the company made absolutely zero meaningful progress in moving it significantly forward as a project despite years of droning on about it.
The obvious choice is that if it's so good - sell it to a cashed-up gold operator. The fact that this has not happened and appears to be no closer than it was years and years ago, tells you everything you need to know.
BUT.... this lack of progress should not mean that money and effort should not be spent on loads of other projects - Burkina Faso, Lithium, Aussie gold etc.
As I've said many times - this company needs to change leadership and focus - focus on selling off assets, focus on just 1 or two resources (Gold + 1) and focus on fiscal rigour."
