RE: What could SD’s 30% discount cost you if you are a holder of 1m shares..?15 Sep 2024 11:44
Hi Doublehun
The ore will start coming out H2 2026, primary crushed and stockpiled at Havieron waiting for viable quantities for transport contract to start.
The critical path to production is not Havieron now, it’s the 9.6m ton stockpile at Telfer.
There’s only one year production stated to be of c13mt then it drops off to about 5mt.
There’s going to be a hiccup in processing until Havieron comes on stream.
All these production figures and values are only based on known reserves, NEM ignored a lot of the stockpiles that Ggp are now looking into, these amount to 20.4m @ 0.37g/t there’s a bit of copper but irrelevant really as it’s only 30% retrievable of low grades.
They need to be drilling and testing all around Telfer as a priority to change resources into reserves to boost production. They’ve stated a June MRE for that.
Fan drilling of the West Dome deep started last April so results March/April 25, only for the top section it needs the decline to get lower down before completion of that.
Drill testing the open pit cutbacks and the underground Main Dome could also add reserves.
This all all needs doing to avoid a hiccup.
Delaying the Havieron ore helps with completion of the Telfer ore processing before the high grade Havieron ore becomes available.
2.8mt rather than 3mt is much better in my opinion as the grades are higher and recovery factors more stable ( more ore = lower grades)
