I don’t think it will happen.
When you look at the latest NCM presentation it’s one of their major growth stories.
With those figures I’ve posted they would be stupid to let it go 10-12% less Ore to produce similar amounts of gold.
Mind you a lot of us think they were daft not to take the %

Red Chris figures
670mt at 0.46% and 0.4%
13.87mt pa gives 205,000 ounces pa
60% recovery gives 123,000 ounces

Cadia grades are forecasted to fall (not grow)

Following on with comparing Cadia gold quantities with Havieron’s
Cadia 35m tons pa gives 405,000oz
When you take in their gold recovery factor around 70% that quantity reduces to 285,000 ounces.
Havieron is 302,000oz from 3mt and has a recovery factor of 88% is 266,000 ounces.

It wouldn’t take a lot more tonnage to equal Cadia gold output, that is absolutely phenomenal.

Cadias grades are forecasted to grow.
Havieron grades are increasing with depth and the high grade mine is likely to grow.

How can you compare Havieron with other large mines?
Let’s have a look at Cadia where they are ramping up to 35m tons

2,600mt 0.35g/t and 0.26%
Havieron
28mt 3.2g/t and 0.51%
Looks no comparison Cadia looks miles better and is one of the Worlds major mines.

35m tons pa at 0.36g/t is 405,000oz
3mt tons pa at 3.2g/t is 302,000oz

So just looking at the gold the cost to produce 405,000oz at Cadia is way way higher than Havieron, but the copper silver and molybdenum brings the costs down to a negative AISC.

Looking at Red Chris the difference is startling 36x more ore to produce similar amounts as Havieron.

This is all to do with the high grade ore.
The weaker ores are not yet in any resources at Havieron , this won’t happen till they’re confident in the estimation.
The cut offs are 1g/t, at Red Chris they’re 0.1g/t

High grade estimation in complex sulphides is very complicated and needs more drilling to confirm estimates.
Estimating in low grade ores is less complicated and needs less drilling to confirm estimates.

At Brucejack they’ve just announced a lower cut off, this will reduce grades but give estimations more confidence .
This will happen at Havieron at some point, but the high grade mine is far more valuable and far more economical than most low grade mines.

This is only phase 1, phase 2 “ the production decline” is probably with the planners already for approval this is just a formality and will be issued in due course within plenty of time of being needed.

These passing bays are needed and the stockpile off shoots. If these weren’t there how do you get machines and wagons passed each other.
Same goes for the vents, how do they breathe and keep cool.
The 2.6km is important but so are the other 900m of ancillaries to be able to complete phase 1

My thoughts were it’s a little bit back from there.
The 1500+m looks like it caters for the access to the first vent between the spirals.
1800m may include the access to the second vent , if it’s not done this month it should be done next month.
These vents are raised bore, so a small pilot drill is drilled between the accesses and raised bore upwards with the bogger picking up the rubble from below.
