Taking over Telfer is just not about the mining plant it’s sat in amongst a large licence holding, there’s still plenty of anomalies on there that need fresh eyes to have a look.
Then there’s the Antipa /NCM jv that may come into play too.

Gas and electric I wouldn’t have thought would be extended to Havieron, if you look at the ESG pages you can see their future is in renewables. This is going to take huge areas of land.

I still think the conveyor Decline length of 9km for the bulk cave could come out of the ground by Kraken reducing the length of travel to Telfer.

Scallywag/ Havieron/ Telfer are all crucially linked.

The talk of buying Winu as well has some truth, Ggp have gained and applied for 2 big licences near Winu in competition with Fortescue

I’m not struggling with accretion v dilution but I know many here are and I voice their concerns.
My concerns over consolidation are historical and I don’t believe the same outcome will happen here

The paste is coming from tailings pond 3 and 6
I believe at Telfer as they are the right moisture content .
If a new plant is built at Havieron we still have to truck paste from Telfer
Havieron will not be producing enough to start with.
It’s turned into pellets first not sure if that will be done at Telfer or H before it goes into the paste plant for blending

Shaun talking about buying an accretive asset especially the 70% .
He said a dilution to buy the 70% would add 2.3x value per share but in practice this would be far higher.

Telfer liability is around $300m
He said something like “would cost more in NCM study”
The trucking of ore to Telfer would cost hundreds of millions of dollars over the Life of the mine
( but we would still have trucking costs for bringing paste back to Havieron)

After all this he said “we really want Telfer”

I can remember Shaun saying he doesn’t want to be taken over, he wants to take them over meaning Havieron and Telfer. I’m sure he said afterwards and Winu :))

The government want a Telfer/Havieron tie up as part of the conditions.
Decommissioning the plant is one thing but the reinstatement approvals will mean putting all the land back as was.
I can’t see this happening.
Shaun has mentioned to me that Telfer is due to close end of 2024, any delays to Havieron will force a Telfer early closure.
That would entail building a new plant but can only happen with using Scallywag land

The question of a new plant will depend largely on whether the outcomes of the corporate merger and the likelihood of Ggp gaining 100% of Havieron.
A new plant is not possible without the merger of Havieron and Scallywag.
Havieron hasn’t the room for all the infrastructure required and a massive tailings lake and waste rock mounds. It needs Scallywag land.
We would have no airport, gas, electricity.

This came from Shaun who said long term trucking is not feasible over the life of mine of 15-30 years.
Well I’ve been saying this for 2 years now, it needs a railway or conveyor. The capex for this would be cheaper than a new plant

We go to a Brandy house to stay 4 storey building with no one in it , shutters, cob webs, covers over the furniture so quiet.
The brandy from there is wonderful

Just look at Minyari still on PFS I believe
Shaun did mention his team could now produce a FS within weeks but prefers not to upset the apple cart at this moment.

Great to meet up again yesterday I didn’t get home till nearly 1am so very tired this morning

That was the best meeting so far in my opinion.
The meeting room was practically full, the best attended meeting of any LSE events.
A lot of the talk though was dominated by questions around the Corporate events of Newmont, too many ifs and buts .
He has prepared plans for whatever happens, I have gained added confidence that Shaun will manage any situation that awaits us.
Regarding the ASX listing there are compliance listing rules delaying the process
The FS for Havieron and Red Chris are delayed, he remarked he could bring his own out within a few weeks if needed but no plans to do that at present.
I asked about when will we be able to meet other members of the Board or team and he says he intends to bring Damien Stevens next time if practicable.
He quipped Havieron goes down to the centre of the earth.
