Well for all those with the wrong PDF they’re referring to a table 7-3 on page 136 or there’s a graph on page 135.

This is not necessarily what’s definitely going to happen.

It’s not telling the whole story.

They have just looked at electricity generation for ore processing.

Look at the spike in diesel generators below it and then the huge spike in diesel for transport.

As I’ve been mentioning before getting to the ore in H1 24 is not the start of production there’s another 500m of Decline to get down to the production level plus the access drives and infrastructure to get to the production stopes.

Then there’s the work on the stopes themselves.

There’s at least 6 months of work on that but if the main Decline does accelerate to a Byrnecut record we could reach the ore by this Xmas, which see stoping commence in H2 24.

This ore will be stockpiled near the box cut it’s likely to be a big pile.

I think the Rom pad could take about 125,000 cubic metres bulked but unlikely to get that full.

Not sure of the bulked amount on a road train depends which one they use but about 30-50 cube, 10 trips per day would need 500 cube per day so you would need a big pile to start with.

Going back to the Decline reaching the ore remembering the layout is changing but the old one shows exploration drives going into the ore body, this is called development ore/ ounces and will also come from the access drives.

This ore I’m expecting to go to Telfer as sample loads to test the train circuit for optimisation, this will be H2 24.

The diesel generator spike looks to be for the ventilation and crushing operations as it’s a consistent amount , the previous amount is for the site amenities. This is shown in 2024 so production according to this has started.

Now there is a huge spike in transport diesel consumption this is to get the ore to Telfer in 24.

When it gets to Telfer it will be stockpiled again before going into the ball mill, this may start the latter part of 24, this document has played conservatively and stated 25.

Once the Decline reaches the ore body so long as the mine conforms to H&S laws they will want to get that ore out,

It will be a slow build up during 24 and ramping up in 25.

Once the ore is stockpiled on the ROM they will want to get it to Telfer so long as there’s enough for the transport contractor.

Once it’s at Telfer they will want to process it as long as the stockpile is large enough to keep the process continual.

The key to all this is getting the Decline to the ore hopefully by Xmas

No way will they blend Telfer ore with Havieron, they are going through 2 very different flow circuits. There’s hardly any copper left in the Telfer ore so pointless putting it in a floatation circuit.

“Telfer currently operates two processing trains with a total capacity of ~22 Mtpa. The Havieron ore is expected to be processed through a modified Telfer Train 2 Processing Plant which is expected to operate a single train at 6Mtpa rate on a campaign basis. The Plant modifications are expected to include magnetic separation within the flotation circuit to reduce the amount of pyrrhotite in the final Cu Concentrate and a carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit on the flotation tail and cyanide detoxification circuit. The expected cost of the plant modifications is included in the project capital estimate. A single train operation provides optionality if higher mining rates are achieved from Havieron or through the extension of Telfer's current mine life (i.e. Telfer ore can be run through the other train with the existing flowsheet). ”

The only blending will occur to reduce the bismuth levels to avoid processing penalties but that is blending Havieron ores not Telfers.

There’s plenty of documentation to show production starting in 2024 it was going to be in H1 24 upto June but the Decline difficulties have pushed it into H2. There’s a chance it might still happen in H1 it depends what infrastructure goes through the ore but this will be stockpiled on the ROM till decent quantities are amassed for a transport contract to start.

The speed of the Decline is paramount for a 2024 production start, it might catch people off guard when it speeds up.

There’s 2 lots of production one is the production of the gold Dore’ bars (and silver) and the other is the copper concentrate.

The Dore bars are sent to the Perth mint so shouldn’t be a long process.

The copper concentrate is different it will be stockpiled at Telfer before enough is achieved for transport by road and then ship to Japan, that may not be well in to the new year 25 before we see those results including credits).

There’s a big warehouse at Telfer that is used for storing the concentrate in a mass bulk.

Looks about right as there will be a lot of gradual stockpiling on the ROM pad.

The contractor said they were going to crush the ore on the ROM but a recent email from Shaun says otherwise.

If they don’t crush at the Rom will be difficult to blende for the bismuth content and less Ore in road trains per trip

I’m glad you realise it’s all based on assumptions and only based on passed averages.

There’s one thing to remember though the strata they are in at the moment is weak not as problematic as the middle aquifer but stronger than the upper siltstone above that where 3-4m was a good day.

We are now on average 5-7m and just approaching the strongest layer in the cover.

As I’ve mentioned before Byrnecut’s record advance was at Jundee in 2019 24-25m per day.

I’m expecting a big uplift from 7m , hitting that record could see the end of the cover by early December.

If Shaun comes over in the last week of September I’m expecting him to announce they have reached the lower aquifer.

I’m not sure how this hypersaline aquifer will affect progress, the salt content could have detrimental effect on the machines and labour we will have to wait and see.

Bore hole measurements are saying that the water content levels are on the low side of the P90-P10 range.

If people don’t understand this system you can look it up on google for explanation but it is used widely in oil exploration and hydro surveys.

I’m hoping they bring in another gang to do the ancillary infrastructure which starts into the lower aquifer

Great work putting that together.

I worked out the average pre 11th Aug was 5.17m per day, so if they have done 200m since then that average should now be something like 7.14m.

In 28 days that means the length would be 2,040m

Where they are now there is only one stockpile so say 30m long so the Decline is around 2,010m.

The lower aquifer I worked out starts at 2,100m

We should reach that at 7.14m pd by 20th September just in time for the Stroud do .

2,773m still needed to get to the top of ore so 763m to go plus infrastructure works , that’s 5th January without infrastructure works.

The new 3D graphic has changed the infrastructure to be lower down in the cover to be wholely in the aquifer a much stronger rock

On your point 2 the blending of Telfer and Havieron ore.

Telfers Ore now the grades are very low with little copper, it can be stock piled leached very cheap.

To mix it with Havieron would dilute the high grade which is pointless. Plus Havieron has a bismuth content so will probably be blended at the ROM stockpile before it reaches Telfer.

Havieron ore will be a floatation process.

At the end you mention a delayed start as you can see on that graph page 282.

This piece of work is a complete jumble of different plans of Telfer and Havieron, the only way I can explain it he describes scenario 1 as from the PFS . That plan did not have stoping that came later, what it did have was a bulk mining method of Sub level caving in which you would need to go deep down to start now that would be a 2027 /28 start.

To produce no ore in 2027 as shown in that table is just not right , which miner would have a Decline looking at ore and not take it out.

The graph and table more resembles Telfer than Havieron with Telfer underground starting in 2027/28 and the current underground fronts/ open pit will be finished by 2026 causing a gap in production.

I wouldn’t take much notice of the info around this graph it’s not correct in anyway

It states in that booklet that Telfer has enough reserves to last until 2035/36.

The open pit has resources to keep going to June 2024.

The booklet mentions high capex to open up new fronts in the underground mine, these are the resources left for 2035. It goes on to talk about negative cash flow in those underground resources which is why the 2nd scenario is used showing the NPV value moving more to Havieron.

Havieron will be keeping Telfer going until other resources are found.

My point about the Northern corridor high grade ore is the increase in grades to this zone can change the phasing of the stoping plan. By this I mean to keep the 3mt plan in the top 300m this will create initial capex savings and give a better programme of stope openings rather than going deeper.

The deeper it goes in the crescent the less stopes per level, therefore the programme has to go quicker downwards and that puts pressure on the Decline advancements.

Keeping to the top 300m initially allows more stopes per level and give more chance of building up cash flows to pay for the lower levels.

Someone mentioned about huge capex spending to come, I don’t see where, once the Decline had reached the first level of stopes and the ventilation system is in place there’s only the Decline to allow for and infrastructure on each stope level.

This is a top down mine , meaning revenues will pay for continuing lower levels.

Once revenues are coming in, then conveyor or hoist becomes viable.

$500-600m is an NPV value it’s a guide to future profits at this moment in time. It’s a guide only as a sale price.

The discounted rate has taken for gold only mainly cos copper quantities at Telfer are plummeting.

It has been produced from old data .

Until we get a FS there will be no clarity on how they intend to mine it, the true value will then become apparent.

It doesn’t matter if we have been issued with an MRE or not, until that FS comes out it won’t effect the mine plan.

Scenario 2 has a 16 year mine life

Page 209 and 210 are showing NPV values with 2 scenarios for Cadia and Telfer including Havieron.

They have been put together as Newcrests Australian assets not lumped together for a sale.

The NPV value for Telfer states they are leaning towards scenario 2

Only 10% of NCM production was hedged mainly at Telfer due to weakening grades and falling mill throughput.

There are NO hedges planned for Havieron, who would hedge high grade ore?
