RE: Calm before the Golden Storm of Activities !6 Aug 2023 11:35
I was watching the “Earth” programme last week and Chris Packham was going through the Eons of earths history and he mentioned about the molten rocks and how granite is lighter than basalt so separates and rises to the top. I like to think of it like a lava lamp with granite blob rising to the surface.
These blobs are referred to as granotoids and one of these can be seen at Wilki Lake now that is a very big one. Callum in his interview with Liam suggested that this was the source of Telfer and hinted it could be the source of Havieron. Let’s hope they get permission soon to drill it.
Will be very interesting what’s happening at Wilki Lake and down on south into Pascalle licence adjoining WL.
Wanman or Blackhills North, Ggp are calling it, is also mainly granite.
Scallywag is now not only the licence but is an area covering:-
Scallywag
Blackhills North (Wanman)
Rudall
Pascalle
Very interesting what’s happening with the cover at Rudall.
Havieron,Scallywag etc have a Permian cover so this is pre the great forests that covered the earth of the Carboniferous period. This caused climate change and maybe with help of asteroids these forests were wiped out forming the great coal fields of the world.
Rudall’s cover is Carboniferous so a lot of vegetable matter compressed into rocks, totally different to Havieron cover of Permian cover with its glacial deposits.
(NB! Dinosaurs and oil deposits came later)
