There is no planned hedging on Havieron production.

Refer to page 21 of the appendix 4E of NCM results.

Newcrest are using hedging to June 24 to provide assurities on their cutback operations.

It’s got nothing to do with Havieron, processing tests have not started yet on sample loads.

Possibly depends if there are any contaminants within the salts but potash can be extracted from salts flats around Western Australia, quantities though would not make it viable at Havieron. There’s 2 types of potash WA has SOP same as in Yorkshire but that one has more ingredients making it better than WA potash.

The advance of the Decline had reached 1840m by 11th August.

It had left the middle aquifer which was sandstone which had caused some difficulties, it’s now in the lower siltstone strata. The advance rate was averaging around 5.17m per day.

12 days on it should have easily achieved 1900m total in the easier ground.

The siltstone finishes around 2100m at 5.17m that’s 38 days time 1st October.

I’m suspecting they will achieve a better rate than that.

From the 2100m to 2,773m (planned end) is the lower aquifer a very strong strata consisting of Tillite a glacial deposit.

Byrnecut’s record advance rate of around 24m per day happened at Jundee in 2019, if that is achieved at Havieron that would be incredible but we need to see what the lower aquifer water situation is like. The bore holes are suggesting it contains water estimates at the lower end of the P10-P90 range. It’s hyper saline , not fit for any purpose which is why they are preparing the evaporation ponds.

They better hurry not a lot of time left.

Decline progress is the main operation happening at the moment and also the evaporation pond for the hypersaline water from the lower aquifer.

Latest satellite images are showing the black liner very clearly and it’s way over 50% complete.

This needs to be in place before they hit the lower aquifer, it’s unusable water.

Going to the figures for the Decline the lower aquifer starts on a Decline length around 2,100m.

20th July = 1,726m Decline length

11th Aug = 1,840m

22 days = 114m

That’s 5.18m per day average

Around 2100m to get into the really strong rock of the lower aquifer.

260m @ 5.18m is 50 days

That’s 1st October

2,773 total length

At same rate is 7th February

Byrnecut fastest ever advancement was an average of 24m per day at Jundee . I’m not saying they will get to that but the lower aquifer is a stronger rock than at present and should allow a greater advance rate than 5.18m.

8m would be an exceptional rate would give a Xmas finish.

24m would be an early November date for the 2,773m total length planned.

Whatever happens that evaporation pond needs to hurry up.

Telfer is the big risk but it’s still a prize asset if they can find more ore.

It was due to run out of ore 2022/23 it’s now been stretched to 2025, it’s just making a profit but that will start to diminish.

They may be stalling certain things at the moment but they’re certainly still exploring on the Telfer licences.

Strudels noticed new pads right by the Ggp Pascalle target just across the licence border.

They’re making new tracks down there probably from the O’Callaghans mine near by.

Perhaps Ggp will be able to utilise these tracks to get to Pascalle, it is overdue for drilling from last year.

They’re not there yet looks like they may still be at South London that’s around 2 weeks now. If they don’t go back up to Swan they could go to Pascalle next or Rudall to do a downhole survey.

I really think thoughts of RIO buying us out is pie in the sky.

They are after cheap lithium deals in Australia not gold mines.

Even Winu was rumoured to be too small for them earlier this year.

Their analysts were saying last couple of years that they should look for gold deals but none have been pursued they don’t want it.

RIO taking over Ggp is wishful thinking and should be forgotten.

One reason is the tie up of Havieron and Telfer , they both need each other and Telfer comes with a huge liability, what company would take that on. Well Ggp would they need the Telfer tailings for Havieron to backfill the stopes it’s not coming from anywhere else.

Using the tailings reduces the clean up bill considerably.

No one here knows what’s going to happen but the big players don’t want that liability on their books.

Of course I know the difference and so does Shaun, if you haven’t heard Shaun answering questions you can’t say he meant something else. He’s very clear in his answers and he doesn’t ignore any questions asked of him.

The fact that the SLOS and EB block caving are shown in tandem on the PFS puts doubt on your statement that they can’t run in tandem and makes what Shaun says immaterial. The shape of the EB isn’t conducive to sub level caving.

I’ve really enjoyed the London sessions you should come.

I’ve stood right by him when he was talking about the SLOS operation getting as much early income as possible to pay for the ongoing capex for the Decline and then to cave the Eastern Breccia in tandem, it’s definitely not SLC that went out when the Mining plan came in for the SLOS. I asked him about it a couple of times.

The SLC under the head wall I noticed was by NCM.

The North west pod won’t be taken in isolation it’s just another part of the Northern Corridor, I still believe they will SLOS this top zone but we will have to wait and see.

MF11 has a much better memory than me of what Shaun remarked at these sessions he’s stood next to me a few times.

Re bulk caving and SLOS running at same time.

I’ve stood by Shaun during his chats in London 5 times and he’s practically said it on every occasion and in some of his interviews .

If you go back to the PFS we have a 9 year Life of Mine for the SLOS and a start date of the Bulk caving in 2028, that’s well within the SLOS time scale.

They might not have said it outright but the evidence to show their intention is in black and white.

As I said this morning that timescale will be very tight and unlikely to happen without more drilling to diagnose the Link Zone and lower down.

For others who don’t know Malva, we have been having discussions now for maybe 3 years and I really enjoy them and he queries my theories when he doesn’t follow my drift and he didn’t follow my drift with the 3mt. That is to save for the pub if we ever meet up.

That all started from people spouting on about getting more out of the ground straight away with a hoist, with this compact shaped ore body that’s not possible without bringing out weaker grade ores with it, so you will end up with more ore to come out for the same or less ounces from the 3mt high grade.

I was trying to show by using Cadia as an example but I could have used Red Chris or other mines around.

Havieron is blessed with high grade ores so savour the first few years at 3mt

The patent should pass over to Newmont.

It’s all about the drawbell Design and the infrastructure drives instead of dual layers there’s only one level eliminating huge costs.

The shape of the drawbells dictates the shape of the bulk cave drop, the angle of repose shouldn’t happen with this design all depends on the rock strength and brittleness, but the maximum height only cracks and drops to about 750m

I can see you still don’t really understand what I was comparing but I won’t keep going on about Cadia, it is a different beast to Havieron.

I agree about the SLC and it has been mentioned by Newcrest to use this method under the head wall of the Dyke next to the SLOS Western front operation.

You can see that intention by including 3% waste/ dilution of paste fill onto the 6% waste/dilution of the ore.

You can also see this intention by keeping all the infrastructure out of this area in the 3D graphics.

This operation certainly can’t start until the SLOS is way down out of the way and the paste fill cured enough.

Your comment re bulk cave and SLOS can’t happen simultaneously is incorrect for earlier plans, this was definitely the case when they were thinking that the Eastern Breccia was separate.

Once the Decline reaches the underside of the SLOS it will go across to the underside of the EB and the 2 operations were to be simultaneous.

Things moved on from there as the gap zone then became the link zone, being linked puts a different perspective on that plan and we haven’t heard the results of that .

The EB of course keeps going lower so there may be a lower phase of bulk caving below the original plans. They can’t do it all in one, their patent design has a 750-800m limit.

Going on to the Northern Breccia, this bulk cave operation here will be the last thing to happen as you said about the disturbance.

The high grade pods found in this area recently looks as though the plans are still in process for which method to go for. I believe the problem with water coming into the Decline will hinder a bulk caving plan to the NB, this is one of the reasons that SLOS is still in the frame for the centre.

The presentation told us the plans for this are still in planning, when Shaun said it still undecided which method to use.

The EB bulk cave plans are still a long way from being definite until more underground drilling is completed.

The PFS start date of 2028 can’t happen it will be later, so when it does start the SLOS and SLC operations will be way in advance but the lower sections should run in tandem with the EB.
