That begs the question, what did LGEN 'advise' their clients to do wrt the increasing risk to their LDI positions due to the increasing gilt rates, rates that had been increasing since the beginning of the year?
Looks a bit like LGEN shifting all the responsibility onto their clients...which I suppose is what investors want to hear. Hopefully it is true.

I don't know if this is a sign of things to come or just a rough patch for TRMR. What are the brokers targetting?

I must admit my ears perked up when I heard the mention of Solvency 2 in the budget....as was predicted here. Even got a roar from the Brexit mob when he linked it to Brexit freedoms.
Hopefully will give LGEN a boost in profits.

There was a fairly recent article in AJ Bell Sharemagazine that analysed the performance of shares in relation to director share transactions....I don't believe there was a conclusive correlation.

The compensation scheme has to be based on long term performance and reasonable. At the moment they are massively rewarding failure.

Splitting a company isn't very common. The costs must be enormous and I'm not sure of the benefits....it makes it easier for a potential buyer who are only interested in one asset.
GSO split off Haleon recently but there has been debate about that. It was supposed to unlock potential by allowing managers to concentrate on the individual core asset and invest accordingly. I'm not sure that applies to ITV....I had an image of two drunks holding themselves up in a bar!

I wonder if Ofer Druker & some of the other managers are going to buy some bargain shares to show confidence in Tremor....although I suppose why should they because they are getting so many free shares anyway. Very soon they will have the entire company....for what it is worth!

BigEgo, the 'problem' is that company news on boards is either mostly irrelevant detail or just plain gossip. Even some financial 'analysts' are basing their recommendations on little more than a hunch sometimes. If you want a detailed analysis then read sources like the FT....which someone recently described as a 'Pinko' paper on a forum (might have been this one)!

Spike, I may have got it wrong that it was money from the government. But I thought it was a scheme 'encouraged' by the Kazakh regime because financing had dried up because banks had become too cautious & reluctant to lend.
Obviously access to Russian money - the Russian bond - was ended by the war in Ukraine.

Probably desperation.
The hedge funds will be trying to put pressure on ITV management to sell them the studio business (the crown jewels) at a time than best suits them i.e. when dollar is strong and the SP weak. They will probably be thinking this is a good time for them to buy the asset cheaply.
The fact that management is coming under pressure by investors to realise the value in the business means that the tricks/ploys of the hedge funds are working. If they can get the management to make a mistake and sell below true worth then they will be very happy.
It is the same in any negotiation. Anyone who is forced or under pressure to sell is going to come out worse off....assuming the other side knows they are a forced seller.
ITV has to be ready to walk away from any deal. It also has to maximise the competition amongst bidders (FOMO). But ultimately they have to have a strategy.

Obviously shareholders would benefit....but some cash would probably be kept to invest in the remaining business. But the remnant may not be worth very much and be a money pit. It is hard to know what to do but something has to be done.

spike, how could they used Kazakh govenment backed investment to repay bonds?...surely there would be some stipulation that it has to be spent on infrastructure or a new company yacht!!

Vulture, yes I can see that.....and I have heard financial pundits promote shares that have fallen 'x0'% from their peaks last year, but I still wonder if some of those peaks were unrealistic & overinflated by hype and/or post-pandemic enthusiasm. I wonder if they have just fallen back to 'fairly priced and aren't the 'bargains' some are suggesting.
I suppose it is the Bitcoin quandry, what is Bitcoin really worth?!...I suspect nobody really knows (not even Elon Musk).

Has there been a 'proposed' split yet or is this speculation at the moment?
The interesting thing is the article is the 'fact' that management seem interested in ways to get the inherent value of the business reflected in the SP. ITVX is a medium to long term project. The danger is that they inadvertently sell off the studio business (the 'jewel in the crown') for a song, leaving investors with the unwanted & unloved remains.
It would be ideal is they could somehow create a bit of excitement. Perhaps putting up a 'for sale' sign would encourage potential bidders....even if they ultimately reject them as 'undervaluing the business'!

Although like most shares it can be tricky to work out when a share has bottomed.
A few months back it was oscillating between 245p and 270p, but now that may have adjusted downwards. Hopefully the recent dip to 205p was a one off buying opportunity and the new range will re-establish closer to 245/270p. But I expect some people will be hoping for a return of 205p to top up/average down again.
