yes I would be very surprised with 2500 too, unless they outsource. If they have applied for lot 4 I think the criteria is for 10k+ tests per day, so they will have to up the ante with that. I do believe the tenders allow for a 'consortium' and I wonder if they would consider that to go after the bigger numbers.

however, it must be very unlikely that a successful applicant will get nowt from it.

I'm not sure they will know upfront monetary values as it's a framework set up and different agencies will order as and when ad hoc so to speak! They will probably only know they have been successful and on the supplier list.

yes indeed Kaeren, there do seem to be a few 'loopholes' where reporting is concerned. I know they have tendered for the £22B govt project that closes this Monday 12 noon. I think they can tender for all 4 lots too. Hopefully they can get a decent slice of the 'action'.

Ygen are only making tests to fill in spare capacity from their core business. It only amounts to 20/30k a month so no big deal, but they actually test their own PCR's tests in their own lab. Not too sure how many can do that. They do apparently have potential to increase capacity though.
Take a look at some of their other products like DPYD (oncology) and their NIPT (non invasive prenatal testing) test. I think they will do well!

Shaun, I know Recova use Ygen because they featured on a Ygen webcast along with Mediskills. Not sure where Recova actually distribute the Clarigene test but they definitely are a 'partner'. If you want a link to the webcast I will dig it out for you?
