Ella, you don't need accreditation to apply or enter a tender process. You just need to show you are going down the route to get it that's all. So it won't stop Ygen getting work. They already have their 'house in order' with very good accreditation, they are now upping the bar with ISO 15189.

pacman, as mentioned previously they will need to at least apply for that accreditation to do the govt work. To me it just confirms they are expecting to pick up some of that new tender amongst others no doubt! A bit more foundation going in for the near future when that tender kicks off on Feb 1st I hope. Hopefully hear some news with the DPYD product soon too.

you would certainly hope we are involved after the Wales success. Might just depend if anyone is mates with Boris or Hanc ock or whoever in govt.That seems to be the best way in!!

yes flipper I agree, that is why I said I am only looking until March end, so not too long now. We can't wait for months or even too many weeks on that tender because it's deliverable from 1st Feb so 'winners' will need to know asap I would have thought. But yes maybe end of Dec is hopeful, but you never know with how fast things move in the covid space.
Regards testing capacity, if they are allowed they can outsource, just like NCYT have surely? If they can run at full capacity, whatever that might be, then we can't ask for any more really.
I used to be as bad or worse as anyone on here regards 'kicking' the company but all it did was wind me up even more like it seems to do with others on here. I have since tried (it's hard sometimes) to stay positive and for me it just helps with my mood and wellbeing. I have one stent already, don't want any more!!

I know covid has affected core sales but it might just turn out a blessing in disguise going forward. It has certainly opened up a whole new market for them. I am hopeful of them getting more in with govt/NHS and other depts. with what they can offer, especially on the genomics side of things, which we know the govt are going into big time.
When you look at the live tender now, it's split into 4 lots, and Ygen can go for all 4 of them. Not sure there are too many other SME's out there, other than the big boys who can do likewise.

pacman, yes agreed! I have been here a good while now, but will take a rain check over the next 3/4 months and hopefully we should be much better placed by March end, or well before then. If not I will sell and move on.

I don't expect them to fully use that cash on the buyback, save a little for a rainy day, or when another II has had enough! lol

pacman. I do see your point, but blimey 3B shares? So another 2.25B shares let's say at a placing price of 17p+ average. What's he gonna buy for £400m+ ? If those figures happen then I would hope Ygen will be well worth more than £500m.

the only thing I expect from LR is getting us to b/e then profits. This I believe is now pretty close. The company is going in the right direction, actually growing in a pandemic, and now has another very good string to it's bow with 'infectious diseases'. Many parts of the world have and still are in lockdown, but people still expect stellar sales figures, jeeez! I am thankful they had a back up with Covid testing and Clarigene! Could be a lot worse! Just an opinion of course!

Florida, I am sure they never banked on a pandemic when setting the plan for 2020. We know core has/will take a hit so those plans will be obviously put back a little don't you think? Will be great if they do achieve it but I doubt it just yet!
