IT-IS latest vacancy research1 Sep 2021 23:54
I often wondered what IT-IS is doing hiring staff to fill this type of role:
Latest IT-IS Int. job spec. -

"Having in-house R&D capability as well as a rapidly expanding manufacturing team means that ITIS can deliver precision instrumentation and software and be reactive to market demands. We have a proven track-record

PCR technology. As part of this process we are scaling up our development team to introduce a new Software Engineer to
help create and maintain our suite of Java desktop applications."

The Internet of Things (IOT):

Page 5-11 helpful.
Java usage background:
1 Currently, about 3 billion mobile phones are implemented in Java, as well as about 125 million TV sets and each Blu-ray player uses Java. Every big organization uses Java in one way or another.
2 More than 64,000 companies are using Java in the United States. For example, Google uses Java to build and develop Google Docs applications.
++++
My view is that IT-IS is embarking on 'Internet of things' projects, to make data immediately available to a number of users.
ie
1 SNP-sig user test results can be collected by others via internet.
2 If instruments fall out of calibration, head office will be notified and equipment serviced (perhaps at least partly from a remote location).
3 Customer support enabled through such connectivity.
IT-IS will have a competitive advantage over other instrument manufacturers after implementing IoT connectivity, but I suspect some manufacturers have similar plans.
IT-IS will have to be quick to generate IoT advantage.
Further vacancies to be notified I think!
