"We have chosen to invest heavily in building a strategic level of inventory because that allows us to respond rapidly to any demand anywhere in the world, so a selling point of ours is not only can we make significant amounts of this stock but we are also able to deliver quickly wherever need is identified."

I'm not aware of other discussions since, that might indicate a reduction in the high stock levels indicated by Anthony Dyer.

IMO it's possible that, though the stock level is/was large, the company will look to maintain / improve upon 2020 margins for Covid-19 tests in highest demand.

If this is correct, I wouldn't be surprised if smaller high margin test orders were being fulfilled, rather than satisfying some large orders from the likes of Germany / USA at possibly a lower margin.

It would satisfy more customers, rather than fewer large customers.

Those orders that contain instruments for Point of Care use might also be more prioritised (if a shortage of instruments / tests were to occur), encouraging future orders from PoC customers, - ie those customers the company strategy is aimed at.

Typing in any quantity in the List Price / Quantity field produces " PK will ship directly from the manufacturer".
No stock appears to be carried by this supplier.

This begs the question whether we have a WINTERPLEX manufacturer in USA,
or the order is to be shipped from UK, (which may incur an unacceptable delivery time delay).

RNS - 28.02.2020 - "The Company also announces that it has signed an OEM agreement with a US healthcare group for the manufacture and sale of its RUO coronavirus tests." - Winterplex developed after this date.

I suggest they will need to sign up some more subcontract manufacturers before any forecast is positively readjusted.
Unlike Spring 2020, I don't see the company advising anybody who those contractors are.

Authorities will have a problem administering each booster vaccination to the population in less than 3 months.

The more infections that occur, the faster the virus can be expected to mutate, and possibly, the more boosters per year will be required.

I would suggest this country's population could expect a maximum of four booster jabs per year, administered by present vaccination teams.

The Americans have been trying to develop a 'vaccination' that can be swallowed in pill form, but AFAIK have not succeeded yet. That is the only way we can get so many people 'vaccinated' a lot more quickly.

Can we develop new vaccines (taking around a year) before new variants appear, in that timescale, capable of evading the new design?

If we can't, you know where we can be found in the original barbed wire canoe.

Eurofins to Acquire Japanese Molecular Biology Testing Provider Genetic Lab

NEW YORK — Eurofins Scientific said on Friday that it has agreed to acquire Genetic Lab, a Japanese molecular biology-based testing provider for diagnostics, biomarker development, and drug discovery.

Eurofins said that the acquisition will be structured as a share purchase agreement with Genetic Lab parent firm Transgenic. Financial and other terms were not disclosed.

Luxembourg-based Eurofins said the transaction will further its expansion in Asia, particularly in Japan, and build out its global network of clinical diagnostics laboratories focused on specialized and advanced genetic testing.

Genetic Lab has over 70 employees and generated €13 million ($14.7 million) in the fiscal year ended March 2021, Eurofins said.

Earlier this year, Eurofins acquired at-home DNA testing products provider DNA Diagnostics Center.
