I think it’s about time you stopped bleating on about THG eventually being valued at £10. THG is in play now. It won’t be around in public ownership after the summer, one way or another. It’s just a question of how much we get for our shares and hopefully not get ripped off by MM or A N Other.
So get with the programme.

I am predicting £2.50. If it goes for anything like £4 (fantasy land) I will be the first to admit I was wrong. And I’ll be completely delighted to do so.

I, too, hate to agree. At least some sense has returned. Since the wild predictions of £2-£2.50 open on Monday.
This will drift around, probably around these levels until a new bidder (hopefully someone credible this time) emerges or until MM bids to take THG private. Probably sometime in the next few weeks.
My prediction remains, by the summer MM and his backing consortium will own THG and all of us LTHs will have £2.50 (at most) per share burning a hole in our back pockets.

More utter nonsense. The BOD may not recommend a bid, but it is their duty to let the majority of shareholders decide.
If a bid comes in at £2.50 and the large shareholders accept. That’s it. Game over. “The new chairman won’t be able to show his face in the city ever again!”

News whatsoever.
The only positive is that the ST hasn’t found some new negative slant to put on the situation.
I agree that the price will drift up until new news emerges, but I am predicting unchanged for Monday morning.

I think (hope) you’re right. MM won’t want to mess about. He’ll wait for all the other lowball offers to come in. Then beat them with a bid of his own. Hopefully a substantial beat.
He’ll know that even with a substantial beat, he’ll still be picking up a bargain.
I do think, however, that all the other bids will be around the £2 level. And he’ll bid 30-40p higher.
Hope I’m being too conservative.

Yes you’re right. Hopefully the bid. Or the MBO will come somewhere between where we both are predicting. I would be delighted with £4.

I do hope you’re right and we get over £4. But PE are only interested because the price is low, and they’re opportunistic. They wouldn’t be circling if the price was £6. So those that say the current share price is irrelevant, are wrong.
You are right when you say MM won’t SELL at 1x revenue.
But he will BUY at that price!!

I wish I shared your rather romantic view of the PE industry. I don’t think that they are these benevolent companies working for the greater good. I think you’ll find that they are still trying to buy assets as cheap as possible, perhaps add a bit of value with add ons, etc., then sell and move on to the next!

I think we’ve all got a bit ahead of ourselves.
There is no way that this will go for anything north of £3.
PE isn’t in the business of paying fair value for an asset. They buy assets for half (or less) fair value, then try to realise fair value on break up, sale, etc.
MM will get support from IIs at the 250-300 level, why would he pay more?
This share was trading at 70p a short while back. IIs will bite his hand off at the 300 level.
All this talk of MM wanting to avoid a class action suit from PIs is also utter nonsense. There is absolutely nothing illegal or wrong with buying shares in a company at less than fair value (which is just someone’s opinion) or buying shares in a company at a price which is lower than the price you sold them at 18 months prior.

I think a lot of the exasperated LTHs as well as weak holders, traders, have now done their selling.
I think we now get a steady move up, until the next bit of news.

Musk was looking for a reason to wiggle out of buying Twitter. His holding in Tesla has halved in recent weeks. He’s not feeling so flush now and used bot accounts as a face saving reason.
MM is desperate to buy THG. and why wouldn’t he? If he gets them below £3 he’ll double his money in short thrift.
People that think he’ll pay up are delusional. He won’t have to. There’s enough short termists who will accept his offer. Very few holders are prepared to wait several years to realise full value when they can double their money now.

Either way, I would add now at 142.
I think this will get pushed up this afternoon, in anticipation of weekend press speculation.

Belerion may up their bid to 200. 170 was an opening gambit.
MM may have to pay 220-250.

I think Goldman and Okehurst have nailed it.
MM gets his two mates to bid low, when his white knight bid of 250 come in, it will look fantastic, and he looks good too.
Its just a question of whether another, more generous, bidder enters the fray.
Weekend press will be all over this. Basically reiterating these points.

One other point.
If shorters are forced to close and buy on the open, and all the LTHs are waiting to see how the bid battle pans out and dont sell, this could get very squeezy from the off.
