If no deal. Could get very messy. Lots of longs, bought for the bid, looking to get out. Lots of bears looking to reopen their positions. New bears, now fearless because no upside in sight, looking to open positions. Stops being hit. Spreadbets being liquidated.

If we’re honest with ourselves, it doesn’t really look like a positive RNS is coming tomorrow, does it?

I think we do know about it. It’s staring us in the face.

I’d love to be wrong. But can anyone give me an example of a bid coming right after a collapse in sp like we’ve just witnessed?

We were all extremely bullish when the bid was looking like it was happening. Now it’s not. So the more honest amongst us, are now extremely negative.

The price (in the 80s) is telling us that the deal is off.
Now, i obviously hope that it can be resurrected, but thats the reality.

And then, I assume, we start all over again as september nears.

I have spoken to Spreadex and IG just now.
I have accounts at both.
They both said that they saw a few small sellers (probably on the back of the Bloomberg article.
At 111p, stops were hit, and more stops at 100p.
Flash crash down to 81p, with no buyers in the system.
All theyve seen since then is buyers.
IMO this has nothing to do with whether the bid is still on or off.

How much further do people think this can go without an offer?
